Is there a button somewhere in the lessons where you can hear how Kanji are pronounced? I can’t believe there is no audio.

Kanji don’t really have pronunciations. They have readings. That’s why there is no audio for the kanji. Once you get to vocab lessons you will be able to listen to audio for those.

As seanblue said, kanji lessons don’t have audio, but all vocabulary lessons will have audio, recorded by a native Japanese person. For example, for “mountain” (WaniKani / Vocabulary / 山) you can see the loudspeaker icon next to the reading, if you press that you can hear the recording:

There is also an option to enable auto-play for vocab audio when doing lessons/reviews:
