I like it a little better as kanji because I always think it’s grass for half a second when it’s katakana.

The definition is definitely a strange one if you haven’t heard of it before, but there is a 紙芝居 bit that I found online a while ago that made me cry laughing. I’ll post the link below

Interestingly, when I look at the English word ‘paper,’ certain associations come to mind in English (like rock, paper, scissors), but when I look at the kanji, I get different associations in Japanese
