I like wanikani but I’m broke so I can’t afford to pay for it. Is there any alternatives to wanikani. Some website or app just as good?
Kanjigarden, and there was this app a few days ago, that sounded promising: Kanjiverse. These are digital SRS resources. Of course there’s also Heisig’s RTK, but that also has a digital alternative: Kanji Koohii. You also got Kanjidamage, which doesn’t have an SRS, but I’m sure you can combine that with Anki.
If I couldn’t use WK, I would probably get a copy of Kodansha KLC and create an Anki deck using kanji mnemonics, key vocab, and example sentences from the accompanying PDFs you can buy. That should cost less than a year of WK and has definite advantages, but takes more work.
Also, there are several other threads about this exact question. You might be able to find more discussion there; they should be findable through the forum search.
Send an email to Tofugu and state your position - you might get lucky.
Just don’t shout about it if you get something for free, other people not in such a vulnerable state could take advantage.
