[Userscript] Reorder Omega

I haven’t experienced such a problem myself so it’s hard to tell. The script should work with compatibility mode, but it’s possible that something changed since I last tried it. It can also take a moment for the script to load depending on a host of factors, so you would be seeing the original queue set by WK when the page loads, and then a moment later when Omega reloads it will switch. Is that what you are experiencing? If not I would love to hear more about exactly what you are seeing.

That’s precisely what I’m experiencing. The big issue is it is random. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Up till now, I’ve had the box for compatible mode on. I’m about to try it with it off now that I have some reviews to do. I will see if it does it over the next few hours and report back either way.

The times it doesn’t happen it might just be that it’s switching to the same item that is already first. I might see if displaying the loading screen until omega has loaded is viable

Oh, you just made me remember that it would do that too! But I can’t tell you if it is every occurrence. I often have to reset my hands on the keyboard which makes me look down (this is how I get zapped by the loading)

You may also want to check that you have the latest version of the script. For a while there was a bug with how the Back To Back feature worked and if you had it enabled it would not switch the first item if after reordering it was still among the first 10 items

Well, I let a few reviews stack up overnight and checked my script version, which shows the latest according to you. It did change the first review item when I started, but it did it before I input anything. I am assuming that’s code load up. I did note that it doesn’t seem to do it when the review count is less than 5. Of course, with a limited number of choices for it, the chances it doesn’t change anything increase. I can grab shots of my settings if you need them!

Thanks for checking into this with me!

When I get the time I will see if I can just make the loading screen stay until everything is loaded

Using Firefox and the Speed Demon setting - it always starts correctly, first the radicals and then the Kanji that is about to level up. But at a random point the order seems to break. Just now I had a session with 24 Kanji that is leveling up. I got about 20, then vocab appeared and at the end of the review session the remaining Kanji appeared.

This happens at every review session. I do have a lot of other scripts installed so maybe one of those is breaking this script?

Did you perhaps already guru four of them?

No (from memory) I had 6 radicals and 25 Kanji which went from stage 3 to 4 in Apprentice.
Besides that a bunch of vocab with different stages.

I did get the radicals first, then most of the Kanji (lets say 15 or so) and then random vocab appeared, with some of the remaining Kanji appearing at the end.

Only the radicals are needed to guru to continue unlocking the remaining Kanji, but I expected the script to do the radicals first, then the current Kanji and then the rest of the vocab.
That’s not correct?

That is strange. The speed demon preset should indeed prioritize radicals and kanji until they have been guru’ed once and are not needed to unlock anything anymore. To be frank I have no idea what could be causing it, but I will look into it

If I can help by sending a list of my installed scripts, just let me know. I guess somethings is conflicting?
One thing I just did is move up the reorder script just below Open Framework. Not sure if that does anything, will find out during my next review batch tomorrow morning

Sure, a screenshot of your installed scripts would be great

First off, thank you for all your awesome scripts, they’re greatly contributing to my sanity here on WaniKani.

I have a small problem though, I’m mainly using the “Sort by SRS Ascending” preset and for some reason it stops working sometimes. Like right now, I still have 5 App 2 and 3 App 4 items left but for some reason it jumped over to Guru 1 reviews. I’ve confirmed that fact by manual checking the items in question and with your SRS Breakdown script.

These are my installed scripts:

Open Framework is #1 and Reorder Omega is #2 in my Tampermonkey scripts order. This sadly always happens with this scrip, as soon as the stage has few remaining items, it jumps over to the next stage. This is a bit annoying for me because I always try to have zero apprentice reviews at any time.

Do you have compatibility mode enabled? I think when it is enabled, WaniKani randomly asks you one of the 10 items in the active review queue, so even if you have eight apprentice items left in your active review queue, WK might randomly pick one of the two guru items. If you have compatibility mode disabled, you should always get at least the first half (meaning or reading) of each item in the specified order. If you want both meaning and reading of all apprentice items finished before the first guru items appear, you have to set the back to back setting in Reorder Omega to “repeat until correct”.

Therefore, disabling compatibility mode should fix your problem.

At least that’s how I think it works – @Kumirei, if I said something wrong please correct me.

Yep, that fixed it. Thanks!

I tried installing this script on multiple computers, with and without compability mode on, with and without other scripts on, tried changing the order of the scripts in Tampermonkey, but the script won’t even start. Like, nothing happens. There’s no changes to my dashboard, lesson or review screen.

What webbrowser are you using? For me it works in Microsoft Edge but stopped working in Firefox Developer Edition.

Cool, thank you! I honestly don’t remember all that off the top of my head anymore. @Warrie Could this be what you are experiencing as well?
