Unlock all kanji at the start of a level

Has anyone seen a script that lets you do this? I’ve got the one that let’s you re-order but it’d prefer to learn all the kanji in one go at the start of a level instead of splitting it into to two halves.

By unlock you mean like actually unlock in the WK list and do the lessons etc? You can’t override that with a script, the kanji that need the radicals from that level will remain locked until you guru the radicals regardless. Unless you mean just showing you those kanji before they can be unlocked so you can see the mnemonics and such without having to go to each page manually.

Unlocking Kanji is done server-side so scripts can’t really help you with that.

Unless Wanikani gives us permission to do that it’s impossible.

I agree with you though. All the Kanji in a level should be unlocked at the start.

The process makes sense to me since you need those radicals to know the mnemonics for the associated kanji in the same level, but it sure would be nice to have learned the radicals in the level prior instead. ;)

If you could do this, you’d also be able to unlock all the kanji on the site in one shot, so I doubt they’d want to make that possible.

Is there a script that just sets my level to 60?

Yeah, I just finished it. You can get it here: https://www.notarealwebsite.co.nz/downloads/malware
It gets rid of all your reviews and automatically makes you practically done with this site. Make sure you install it on any device you use wanikani on.

You are the kind to cheat, just saying...

I prefer to work on it as attended without scripts… although looks like I am in the minority

Well you are still at level 3. I don't think scripts will be all that helpful so early.

Appreciate all the legitimate answers guys. Not so much love for sarcastic ones

All I meant was, I would prefer to reach a new level and learn all the kanji in one go and then learn the vocab.

It would probably kill you sooner or later, because it would mean faster level up times which in turn means a higher workload. It may not seem like a problem at lvl 12, but wait another 15 levels or so and you'll understand. Taking a shot in the dark i'd say i'd mean about 400 reviews a day.

If this question is really just about the order that you learn things, you could self-study on the Level screen, either unaided or with [Self-Study Quiz Edition].

Like others have said, this process is due to the function of radicals and cannot be overridden by a script. Trust me, if it was possible, a lot of people would be leveling up 4 days every time, haha.

Anyways, I know it can feel bothersome and a little sluggish, but it's just how the workload on Wanikani evens out over time. Like Naryorilさん said, in the long run, unlocking everything and going so incredibly quickly would probably be detrimental and encourage people to only do kanji lessons and never vocab lessons. Even with how it's set up, we've seen plenty of horror stories like this...

So I guess the short of it is がんば! and 元気出せよ; eventually you'll just be so used to it, you won't even think about it anymore.

Edit: Now, if you'd like to reorder your lessons so that you get kanji and then vocabulary, you can do that with the reorder script. If this is what you'd like, the Ultimate Reorder Script is in the "Big List of Scripts & Apps" in the 3rd Party API section of the forums~

It is deliberately not possible so your speed through the levels is throttled.  At some point in later levels (45+?) you can take enough Kanji at once to Guru enough to level up without the second batch, but for me personally, I can't handle the workload.

Currently going at almost maximum speed you get 12 NEW items a day. That’s pretty steep actually. By unlocking all kanji right away it would essentially double that. Impossibru. I already have to slow down to prevent reviews from accumulating more than 250 per day which is the limit I set myself. And the final 15 or so levels are in fact 4-day long. Still, I take my time because it’s just silly to do that, it’s too easy to get drowned in reviews.
