Typing takes way too long

#1

Is there a program that only requires you to say whether you remember it or not?

#2

Dude speaking takes too long, just deliver your thought directly to the wanikani servers.

#3

Anki.

#4

Like anki? I remember seeing a userscript for pass/fail buttons

#5

I think Anki works that way by default, but I’ve barely used it myself so I couldn’t tell you for sure.

That would solve the typo problem. Or perhaps create another... "thinko"?

I'm guessing that pushing the "insert image" button at the top right took too long? ;)

Oh ok now it works
¯_(ツ)_/¯ what happened

Funny that I hate anki for this reason – it takes me too long to decide whether I remembered it or I just remembered after seeing the answer. Typing is a lot quicker and less error-prone than that.

You can input the answer in Anki.

I wish I could use speech recognition software to input the reading answers, rather than typing.

Failing and pushing the item back a few levels is slow, too. The Auto-Correct script might do the trick. Just press the submit button and your reviews are 0. So handy.

Serious answer:

If you can’t type fast enough that typing a single word takes too long, you should go learn to type faster.

When you have dozens or hundreds of reviews, you do understand that you’re no longer talking about a single word, yes?

Anyway, 18 replies later (gotta love the WK community), here’s what OP was looking for (or at least the nearest thing available)

Well, there is no script for dictating. I initially wanted to suggest him to use things like Siri, but you’d have to change the keyboard/language for it every single time, and the Japanese Siri is not that great for dictation. It would either won’t find the exact term you want, or when it finds the correct item, most likely input the Kanji instead of Kana.

This is too long, this is too slow, etc…People wants to do lots of things, but nothing comes as quick as we’d like too. This is called patience, and most of the things in life requires it…
