This seems cool. I am really a n00b but I’ve never played any Pokemons, my question is which Pokemon are you playing and which console are you emulating? I’m interested in playing myself as it seems like a fun way to learn. I’m considering getting a Japanese DS while I’m over there but even getting a console would be cool.
Edit: Oh Pokemon Black … just saw it in the title! Is this the one?
To my knowledge DS games aren’t region-locked. I’ve been able to play USA titles on my Japanese 3DS.

I’m from Australia, so I was wondering if they would work on my DS? I should do more research.
I need to start playing Pokemon Games in Japanese.
I hope the new one for switch gives us a Japanese language option just as Smash does.
According to Wikipedia,
The Game Boy and Nintendo DS product lines do not use regional lockouts for physically distributed games; however, software specific to the Nintendo DSi are region-locked, and cartridges released by iQue in China can only be played on DS models produced by iQue (although they remain compatible with other DS cartridges). The Nintendo 3DS line however, does enforce region locking for 3DS-specific software, with the exception of Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre , which is region-free.

けど is “but” here → She somtimes does things at her own pace, but is a hard working girl
いろんな考えの人 are people with different views/way of thinking
That would be the moment where I throw my good intentions of learning out the window and just try to understand the gist of everything so I can press A and continue xD

The Let’s Go! games on Switch definitely give you Japanese language options (either kana or kanji), so I’d imagine the new ones will as well.

The 3ds games already have Japanese as an option (the only downside is that you have to delete your save file to change the language if you change your mind later), so it seems pretty unlikely that they suddenly would remove that option in the new games.

@Belerith I know that feeling. I re-played many Pokemon games and I never did what I wanted to do in the first place. I would spend 3 hours in the same village, get pissed off then move on…well at least I was playing the game in Japanese right? 
Yeah you should, you are level 22 as well so you will be able to read most of the Kanji which is the hardest part in my opinion. If you don’t use my post as a motivation you will probably never have the motivation again, do it now!

Yeah, names are always different in other languages so I don’t bother translating that lol.
@Lympy Yes that’s it! If you can afford a console just do it. It’ll be really hard at the beginning but things will start getting better, especially your Kana reading.
@Turok You should! And yes the new one will probably give us the option. I’ve played “Let’s Go!” in Japanese so it should be fine. They started adding the “many languages” option from the DS games.
@Ditto20 Indeed, it’s not an easy decision, that’s why it’s better to do it with old games.
@Shirinai Yes but I don’t really need to translate names completely because it doesn’t have any impact on the meaning. Who knows, someday they might use る to get “ru” and not really to get the “ll” sound xD

Stop there! Are you kidding me? You want to tell me that I will refuse the help of someone who is better than me? I am already grateful for all the help you’ve provided so far and it’s one of the reasons why I shared all of this. I want to motivate some people but also get some help/improve myself. Point out everything you want, heck you can tell me that my translation sucks and I will be glad to get a better one.

Ah, I’m pretty sure I’ve failed to actually learn most of the kanji I’ve been taught, but at least I can recognise them, perhaps. Worst comes to worst, I can use search-by-radical.

No, don’t be so hard on yourself! I think “thoughtful” is used often to describe the personality of people or certain actions. Just wanted to point out, that 考え has a different meaning here

I think the meaning is just like what you thought of in the brackets: “I want you to find your own important thing” like what is the most important thing in life for him.
I’m wondering if ぜひ is refering to ほしい…
My take on this one:
“I hope very much that through these various encounters you will find out what is most important to you”

I think you might have mixed up the meanings of 自信 and 自身?
So 自分自身を成長させる = to improve yourself; or “to grow as a person” would fit well here too

It’s the “to ask” meaning of 聞く → I asked Professor Araragi, and she said we will get a pokemon.
There’s no implication of “will we ever” or the like, the だって is just plain quoting what she said: 「ポケモンをもらえる」
“Still not here” would be the meaning if it were “まだ”, but また is “again”.
It’s the right kanji, but it also has an adjective: 遅い, late. When you want to say “it has become late”, you change the last い to く and add なる → 遅くなる
The chatta is a short version of てしまった (meaning unconciously doing something / regret).
Add the てしまった to なる to get 遅くなってしまった.
Now abbreviating it to ちゃった and you get 遅くなっちゃった

Those are ellipses rather than interpuncts - not entirely sure why they’re printed on the mid-line. That said on my (Windows) IME, I can get an interpunct by hitting the / key. \ key makes the ￥sign.
The１０年も前から is part of the subordinate clause - I’d go with something like “I’ve known you’re a my-pace girl for as long as ten years, but…”
This isn’t a sentence-ending particle, but rather the な-adjective な plus the indefinite pronoun の (i.e. the の is taking the place of 人 in マイペースな人).
