Translating Pokemon Black (Until First Gym) - 100% Done

Oh wow! And here I thought I was the only one who thought about this, his Pokemon videos are definitely interesting. Thanks a lot!!!

For everyone, I added some sentences for those who want to help, will be adding more soon

Could you also add a note for those that aren’t answered yet? (So that we know what to look for)
Alternatively, you can add the answer provided to the ones that were answered. That might be more useful actually.

Aye, I’m having trouble figuring out where we’re up to…

That’s お互い = each other, mutually, together

いっしょにいることで
There is no “because” here, I would translate “で” like “in” or, more freely, “while”
“While being/living together” or “In our daily life together” - more freely again

お互い満たされたり
I’m trying to think of a good translation for this… “Fulfilling each others (needs)”?

力を合わせ助け合い大変な仕事をこなしたり
to join forces and help each other when handling difficult tasks

You want me to work even more right? Okay you are level 60 so I forgive you :stuck_out_tongue:

I will try to organize things better, sorry for the inconvenience.

This is a great idea! Definitely will look forward to updates as you progress :D!

Well, that’s why I suggested to only add a “that question was answered” marker of some sort. It sounds like the easiest solution :stuck_out_tongue:
(The better solution taking a lot more time indeed)

Now that I think about it, my old answers are useless. So I will only post the new translations/fixed answers (if I got help for it).

Guys, feel free to check everything again since I did update the whole thing and now I will be following my new rules.

A “things you need to know” section has been added, make sure you read it to understand how things work.

The last added part will have “LATEST UPDATE!”. I don’t know how to make it more flashy since I can’t change the size/color of the text.

@nbeck0212 Thanks!

@Sarina What about : “While living together we complement each other. We join forces and help each other when handling difficult tasks?” That’s what I have now. Saying “to satisfy each other” feels weird haha.

@Naphthalene I think it’s a little better now. Tell me if you want me to add something else to make it better/easier for you.

Haha yeah and I that’s probably not what they wanted to imply with Pokemon XD I had the same weird feeling with “fulfill each other needs” but couldn’t think of something else you would normally say in that context.
“I complement each other” sounds way better!

Btw what accuracy of the translations are you aiming for? Is is just the correct understanding of the grammar and a general sense of the meaning or do you want to be exact?

You can highlight it using
<ins>Your text here</ins> and it will look like Your text here

This is really interesting. I’m 99% sure I won’t be any help but I’ll definitely keep looking in here to see how it’s going and probably learn a bit aswell :eyes:

I just want something understandable. I can’t get something perfect at my current level anyway. I just want to understand a bit more grammar and practice typing haha. Of course, the translation needs to make sense as well otherwise there is no point in it.

Thanks for the text trick btw, I added it! (not the most aesthetic but it gets the job done)

@Lattemeowcchiato Well…you said 99%, there is a 1% chance that you can help, it’s more than enough so I hope I can see around

I added new pictures! Check the initial post!

気難しい.

Thanks! So it’s something like this?

気難しい ところも あるけれど まっすぐな 男の子 → Despite coming from an unpleasing place as well, he is a straightforward guy.

Maybe. I’m honestly not so sure - I’ve never really gotten the hang of the more figurative meanings of ところ. I feel like it might be definition 5, which’d make the sentence something like “He has a moody side too, but he’s a straightforward guy.”

You always send me to definition 5 haha. Next time I won’t even ask for help

I only know ところ as “place”, so you are probably right because my translation feels really weird. I will add your translation in your next update!

This is a very good idea that I will re-use later on in my journey. I’m not even JLPT5 now, so I think it doesn’t make much sense to even try now. Good luck!

Yeah get the basic grammar down first, also improve your readings skills otherwise it’ll be just too hard. If you don’t know any Kanji you will spend forever on just one sentence. I was crazy enough to do this with a drama when I had a worse level and I hated myself because of how hard it was.

Feel free to check things here, you might find stuff that will help you.

Good luck!

That’s the idea. Teach a man to fish, and all that. :stuck_out_tongue:

You are the catman after all, you love fishing

New entries have been added.

The intros take so long in Japanese! :joy: I remember starting Pokémon ホワイト around November last year and gave up after about a week. Maybe this is a sign to start again? Thanks for the impetus  wish you the best of luck. I’ll probably stick around for the motivation!
