To the allow list! I added that for clarity. The main meaning remain the same:

Do you mind if I ask why this change has been made over the last few updates? I wasn’t sure if there was a specific reason to move away from saying “する verb”

Honestly, the fact that “する verb” is actually a noun and not a verb should be sufficient justification in of itself. As far as I understand, the only difference between “verbal nouns” ending in -する and just “nouns” is the ability to drop -を marker, and when -する is not attached the word isn’t a verb, it’s a noun, hence “verbal noun”.
The only critique I would make is that if we’re actually going into that nuance, “adjectival noun” should also replace “na-adjective”.

This feels a bit askew to me as a way of thinking of it. There’s one class of words which are just nouns, never verbs. There’s a second class of words which are both (a) nouns and (b) verbs when you attach する. (The exact name you use for that second group doesn’t much matter, as long as everyone involved understands what you mean.)

Just noticed that 俺たち refers to 私達 but that doesn’t exist in Wanikani as a vocab item and 達 kanji comes 5 levels later.

Credit to @yoker for being confused by it.
