Nice to get a final result on this one after I brought it up a little bit ago. This is definitely the direction I’d’ve gone with. Thank you as always!

@Mods
I could be wrong, but I think there is a small mistake in the explanation of 触れる. I attached a picture that shows the meaning of 触る at top with the ‘reru’ mnemonic, but isn’t the pronunciation ‘sawaru’?

Just curious: does “block list” mean that an answer is not allowed as a user synonym? Do you regularly dig out incorrect user synonyms that people have added and add them to the block list to avoid confusion?

Hey kittengeneticist! I believe the mnemonic is for the okurigana of 触れる to help you distinguish between both the reading and slight difference in meaning between 触る and 触れる.

I do feel like the wording could use a little disambiguation to avoid this kind of confusion. It’s not the clearest it can be. I will bring this up to the WK content team to see if they want to make any changes!

Thanks for the ping and for bringing this up to us. :slightly_smiling_face:

Correct! The block list disallows the use of the synonym in user synonyms. You’ll be informed of it if you try to add it though, so all is well!

Hi again! I wanted to update you on this suggestion and let you know that the team took a look and have updated the meaning mnemonic for this vocabulary word. Hoping it’s easier to understand now.

Adding on to what @WaniConti said, the block list also stops those words from incorrectly being accepted in reviews due to typo leniency, which is usually how we find out about them in the first place :slight_smile:

Hello there @Mods , I had taken a break for a little bit, and when I got back into it, I saw that the meaning for 蒸れる had been changed. I like the change of definition, it gives more of an idea of what it’s trying to convey,

However, the 発音説明 still has the original “to be humid” meaning in the mnemonic section
