The N1 Thread

Signed up for N1 in December, gonna focus on reading native materials! Last time my biggest worry was vocab/grammar and I ended up doing much better than I expected. I’m about over the depression, time to lock in.

Also signed up! It didn’t seem like there were that many people here taking it in July but I’ve seen quite a few people around talking about taking it in December.

From the one or two mocks so far, seems like there’s not anything in specific where I’m lagging behind, just every section is a bit low. So same old same old study it is

Opened this thread again for the first time in quite a while… just want to wish everyone all the best! Practice is definitely gonna help make things easier and help you get used to the test. (I definitely didn’t practise enough back then lol. My reading speed was also way too low. Luckily I passed with the help of kanji.) One caveat though: some practice materials are definitely way harder than the actual test (e.g. Shin Kanzen Master is way trickier and more nuance-obsessed when it comes to grammar and vocab), so don’t get too anxious because of what you see in your books. Hoping to hear good news from everyone when the test is over :folded_hands:

I am retaking jlpt N1 this year. Failed by 28 points in july. which was expected as i tried to do too many things at the same time.

Note to myself: EJU japanese and Jlpt japanese are not the same.

Different beasts , different tactics.

Good luck to everybody taking jlpt N1 this december. I hope to hear about everybody strategy’s and progress on the days leading upto the test.
I for one will be plowing through my wanikani reviews.:sob:
