lol… I’m the opposite. Why would I pay $9 a month for Netflix when I could pay $9 a month for WK? (Of course, I paid for lifetime, but I really would pay for WK over Netflix).
Also, having cheaper options for long term services is extremely common (my gym is like that also).
How much do you want to learn kanji? I mean, seriously, it’s okay to not be that interested. But people who do want to make progress relative to all the other (typically ineffective, for us at least) ways to do it are often thrilled to find WK.
And thats perfectly valid. This app is worth differing amounts of money to different people. There ARE plenty of free resources out there for learning japanese, some people even prefer over WK. If you are set on learning japanese, its just a matter of deciding if the difference in teaching ability between WK and other places is big enough to warrant the price tag.
I would recommend looking around to see what you can find, so you have something to compare to. Once you know all of your options, it should be an easier choice.
Oh yeah! I AM thrilled. WK is really good. Needs too much time, I don’t have that much time and Japanese has the ability to suck my time, it did on college, and now in my adult life it’s a pain in the ass. That’s why I have to do this as fast as I can. But I’ll manage… slowly!.. hopefully.
The payment thing is ok, but it’s too much depending on what your country is. Our base wage is not very high in general, and similar stuff costs 5 a month or less. I have to pay subscriptions to everything nowadays so they add up… that’s all.
