Hi, so discourse got back to us and said it’s because of the emoji source.
…determined that the emoji being used in the poll is preventing changes from being made to the post, as the emoji image source ended up changing in the cooked post value which put things into a bit of an odd state.
The emoji source shouldn’t be changing very often, if at all, so I think it’s very unlikely this will be an ongoing problem. Unfortunately, given the rarity and the amount of effort it would take to fix this existing occurrence, I’m afraid your post will either need to be recreated or left as is.
They’re not planning on doing anything about this as it’s a rare occurrence. And to clarify, you’re only being affected by this on this post and not other ones right?

Thanks for the update and looking into this so carefully. Yes, it’s just this post and I haven’t heard of others having issues. I agree, I hope I didn’t cause too much work for you already!
What do they mean by “recreating” the post? Perhaps I could take screenshots of the polls and then delete them?

Hellooo I’m looking into the differences between different editions because whenever I’ve seen them in bookshops the fact that there’s 3 different versions has got me all confused
Since there’s such different amounts of volumes it seems very much like it has to all be the same edition when I get it otherwise there’ll be no switchover points… anyone have suggestions as to which is the best edition to get? I’m leaning towards the 完全版 one because it looks slightly more affordable and because it’s larger than the original one. The 新装版 does look nice but it’s a bit more expensive… if there’s anyone who has both, is it worth it?
At some point I need to go and take a proper trip to my closest second hand bookshop again soon for my next manga haul anyway. I’ll pick up the first few volumes along with the next few 名探偵コナン I need to buy and will probably start catching up soon-ish, as soon as I get around to finishing off the last 20 or so episodes of the anime first

Did you see the edition details dropdown in the home post? And then in the first two comments you can see the full set and comments from people who own all of those.
Hopefully someone who has compared them will answer more fully.
For lowest cost you’ll want to go 新装再編版 I believe, but maybe that’s different where you are.
I’ve been buying the special edition 完全版 which are pricey in Europe but I love them since they’re larger and have a bit of colour on some spreads. The only ones I’ve compared directly are the first volumes of the Tankoubon and 完全版 and I vastly preferred the latter. The art really pops on the higher quality paper

If you like the size of the 完全版 that’s a good thing to keep in mind. Also for second hand bookstores, are you in Japan? If so I think it will be easy to find the 新装版 second-hand. I finished collecting my set when travelling there, I think that is the version that is still being printed, with the resurgence of popularity thanks to the recent(ish) movie. So I think there are a lot of copies and people reselling them to the second hand bookstores. I can’t remember how many 完全版 books I saw though, I wasn’t buying them so I can’t remember! I feel like maybe once or twice I saw the whole set packaged together though!

Thank you! I’ve had a look at the photos above of both sets and I think both the 新装版 and 完全版 look good, so either will be fine. The spines of the 完全版 I’m not a huge fan of though. I am in Japan, and I vaguely remember having seen 3 different versions in bookstores before, but I need to see whether the one near me has the 完全版 and 新装版 to compare. I think you’re right that the 新装版 might be easier to get a hold of for every volume, but I’ll have a look.
