Hey there, i just level 4 here. And i in-love with WaniKani. But, where/any apps that recommend to learn basic vocabulary? I mean something like ‘station’, ‘train’, ‘pencil’ and more for basic vocabulary rather than waiting wanikani high level.
電車 is around level 3x which is too lonnnngg journey to me to learn.
i just want to learn some basic japanese word. Is bunpro worth to subscribe?
For basic vocab, I recommend basic Japanese Textbooks. You get grammar and some basic vocab in one package. Often reasonably priced if you shop around for a bit or buy used.
Otherwise, you could look into a Core 1.5k or 2k vocab list in Anki for example and just learn that (e.g. https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1196762551).
How about LingoDeer or something like that for basic vocab? A duolingo-style app focused on Japanese, where you can choose kanji+furigana display, rather than kanji-only or (god forbid) romaji-only.
Some people use it and like it for vocab, I wouldn’t. To me, Bunpro’s strength was in professionally written and voiced example sentences, but even N5 vocab is voiced with TTS. For a beginner I would advice to avoid any TTS until you can clearly hear differences between it and real people.
