On Thursday night, it occurred to me that I could find out my accuracy every night by manually counting the number of items in the āRecent Mistakesā panel on the front page, at least for days where I only did one review session, which is every day except when I level up nowadays.
I manually counted them up and posted the number of missed items the last three nights, but thatās obviously a pain to do, so I tried to find a way to calculate it automatically today. However, unfortunately, this functionality is not exposed to the API at all, and WK doesnāt allow CORS, so I canāt just fetch and scrape the data from the web either. Therefore, Iāll just have to go back to not reporting accuracy data at all 
Incidentally, I guruād another kanji today. Nine more to go.

After my reviews this morning, I only had a single lesson, which only took seconds, but that just happened to be the time that the clock ticked over from 7:26 to 7:27, so per my usual procedures, thatās counted as a minute doing lessons. But really, itās more like I spent almost 19 minutes doing reviews and zero minutes doing lessons.

Ironically, the very first review this morning was ē, one of the kanji needed to level up. If it had been at Apprentice 4, that would have been my fastest level up ever. However, it was only at Apprentice 3, and thus I didnāt level up after answering it. Instead, it took me another 59 reviews before one of the other kanji came up and I successfully leveled up.
Anyway, it looks like it took me 20 days to level up this time, down from 22 days last time. However, the next one will take a lot longer, since Iām going on vacation soon (in fact, Iāll be visiting Japan for the first time!)

When I first level up, I normally do extra reviews of the new kanji using my BishBashOnce tool in order to remember them better, but I normally only do it on the first day or two, since it only takes two or three times to remember them all easily.
However, this morning, I randomly decided to do another BBO review right before my regular morning Wanikani review session, and as usual, I easily got every one right. Which made it very frustrating when literally the very first review on Wanikani was one of the new kanji (ä¾®), and I got it wrong because I didnāt recognize it due to the different fonts used on WK and BBO. Oh well, at least I got all of the others right like usual.

Wanikani Coincidences
Last night, I ran into the word åēŖä¼ (class reunion) which I barely remembered, so I looked it up on Jisho, and immediately recognized it as a word I used to study a lot on Wanikani a year or two back, but had forgotten since itās been so long. In an amazing coincidence, the very next morning (today), it came up for review on WK and I burned it.
Also, earlier this week, I noticed the kanji å come up in the wild (as part of åęÆ, IIRC) and recognized it as ālowlyā, one one of the kanji for my currently level on WK. This morning, I guruād å on WK, thus unlocking the related vocabulary. I expected åęÆ to show up, but sadly, WK only has åå± and åå£. Itās especially surprising because Jisho says that åęÆ is a common word and hikutsu is not, but it looks like WK doesnāt have the kanji ęÆ yet either, so I guess theyād have to add that first.
The other level 59 kanji that I guruād on WK this morning was ę¼ (varnish) and one of the new words was ę¼é» (jet black). This was another surprising coincidence, since I think it came up in Demon Slayer the previous night. I canāt be sure since I didnāt know the word at the time, but when Nezuko sets Tanjiroās sword on fire with her blood and he talks about how his sword is black but turns red in battle just like that ancient swordsman he keeps remembering, I think the word he used to describe his sword was ę¼é».
Lastly, I looked up the lyrics to Tsugaru Straight - Winter Scenery last night, and noticed that it contained 岬 (cape), another lvl59 kanji on WK which I havenāt guruād yet. It also contains the word ęµ·å³”, which is level 57 on Wanikani and which I unlocked all the way back on Sept 16th, but have really struggled with, mainly because I can never keep it straight with the other å³” word on WK, å³”č°·. It doesnāt help that WK just lists the meaning as āchannelā, which sounds so generic and sounds just like āravineā. Hopefully knowing that the word is used to refer to stuff like the Tsugaru Straights will help with remembering it.
In other news, Iām flying out to Japan tomorrow and will be visiting for nearly three weeks, so this log is going to be pretty boring for a while.

WK does list āstraitā as an alternative meaning for ęµ·å³”, if that helps.
Yeah, but I normally only look at the primary meaning during lessons, and in any case, youāre only going to be entering one during reviews. Itās funny how many times Iāve only discovered the real nuance of the meaning of a word from WK when I see it in the wild years later.
