Readings & Meanings paired together during Reviews?

Somewhere in Wk or Tofugu I have picked up the idea that it is better to mix up Reviews. The argument I think is that this is more challenging, which is better for SRS progress.
But maybe this means mixing up Levels & SRS stages rather than whether you do reviews of meaning & reading of each item in sequence (not scattered through your session).
What are peoples opinions?
Two things have raised this question for me.
i). it is a bit easier for me when reviews are done this way (as experienced in current UK heatwave ). Taken to its extreme we could do reviews under all kinds of unfavourable conditions - standing on your head, one eye closed, etc.
ii). Client differences. I use the SD android app which has an option under Review, advanced called ‘Reading/meaning back-to-back’. But looking at vanilla browser Wk I do not see an equivalent setting.
A few months ago I was looking at the newer android app Mina which I believe uploads review results every time you do a meaning/reading pair (as far as I understand) rather than in batches as SM does. I often pop in to to do a few reviews of a larger set that are outstanding so in Mina I would probably want to use what it calls ‘Paired’ (under Prefs|Reviews). Initially I was reluctant to do so as I thought this less effective overall but now I am changing my mind.

Now I see discussion in

Some people developed theories about whether it’s better to do reading/meaning back-to-back or randomised. There might be some effect, but it pales in comparison to whether you actually use the language in real-life situations (talking/listening/reading etc.)

Once you actively use the language (making mistakes along the way because that’s normal), the progress you make will be so great. Compared to that, the order that you did WK reviews makes a 1% difference, if that.
