Finished Chapter 32 of デスノート. It was quite hard at the beginning, but later it felt pretty fun to read. I’ll try to finish the volume tomorrow, two chapters left.

- Pushed myself and finished the final investigation portion (I’m pretty sure) of 逆転裁判. Going from each witness needing a whole day to being able to talk to multiple witnesses in a day and look through a crime scene is quite satisfying. Though it still takes hours lol.
- Finished Polar opposites 3. Not much to say other than it’s a joy of a romcom to read. (I always love the ones where they’re actually dating instead of being forever in will-they-or-won’t-they territory).
- Felt like a fantasy/isekai/villainess volume so narrowed down my Wheel of Random to 3 choices and ended up with Observation Diary of My Villainess Finace, which I’ve been meaning to get around to too. It’s really text dense, but it’s not as intimidating as it used to be, and I’m okay with letting things take a few days (though it’s nice when I can read a manga in a day or two, but variety is the spice of life)
Is this the last formal day of this edition of the challenge?

February is finished (or will be by the time I get up tomorrow and drag my corpse-looking frame off to work (on a Saturday??? the absolute nerve). And with that, so is Novel number (I’ve lost count, let me go check quick… ahem) 6 of this challenge, and 8(??) for the year. Very much on a roll, but I’ve now finished all the books I had sitting close to completion. I’ll be carrying through the challenge for the next 3 weeks (through to the Spring readathon, which will double as the start of my first actual “break” from Japanese in the last year), so next up will be 一瞬を生きる君を, which unfortunately I didn’t get through any of today, due to grinding out お探し物.
I like having to push myself a bit to finish something. お探し物 had just been sitting there for too long, so glad it’s finished with. It was good, but honestly slightly slightly underwhelming compared to my expectations. Like I’ve said, I think 青山美智子 has better books, even though this is the one that introduced me to her, and that I read in English first.

28th feb 
psycho-pass back to being hard again but that should, fingers crossed, be the worst of it for a while. will i still be reading it come the spring challenge? we’ll see! (almost certainly). was time to randomise manga again and i pulled an isekai manga which is an adaption of a LN, as they usually are. i’ve not found an isekai i genuinely enjoy yet but this one is okay so far. art is slightly confusing but the non-combat panels are alright
and that’s the main part of the winter challenge over! that one flew by 
i’ll do a roundup post sometime over the weekend, probably, but congrats to everyone who took part! every little counts!

February 28th - Home post
Manga day today too - one chapter of 恋より青く (getting close to the end of the series - don’t want it to finish!), one chapter of ひとりぼっちの○○生活 and one chapter of r 事情を知らない転校生がグイグイくる. I should probably concentrate on one volume or series and finish that, but that’s no fun 
So far in this challenge (January and February) I have finished 10 volumes of manga and 2 books. I don’t really have any goals for the year (and I know that when I get hooked on another VN, my time to read manga and books will go down), but it’s fun to see what I can get through in a couple of months!

Counting manga finished makes no sense, as I finished three but all were over half-read already, but also read more than three manga worth of words. Over a thousand pages read according to Natively.
Not continuing into March. I intend to read most days still, but no ticky boxes for me to sulk at the empty spaces.

So far I’ve read 6 books and half finished 2 more books (current one and Saikawa & Moe book). Please see my home post for more details. Today may be the last day of winter challenge, but I’ll continue posting in March as well. I hope I won’t be the only one, the more the merrier :3

Finished Chapter 33 and almost finished Chapter 34 of デスノート. I wanted to finish the whole thing today, but today some parts were pretty hard to understand for me, so it took me more time than I planned. Still happy with today

Well…I didn’t do too well this month…
I’m not really sure what happened! Things were going well until they weren’t. I wasn’t even that busy in February: time just got away from me. While things aren’t great on the Japanese reading front, I am finally reading in German again, and man am I rusty! It does feel good being in German again (and not having to worry about kanji readings!).
Like I always say at the end of a month in which I didn’t reach my goals: tomorrow is the start of another month, so I get to try again! Winter isn’t over quite yet!
But I really need to stop doom-scrolling. I’m not quite at 2020 levels but I’m getting close. I would like to be isekaied now, please.
