psycho-pass continues, found this bit easier up until i got sidetracked looking up quotes. again. running theme, that. made a start on リアル vol 2 and i’m enjoying it!
Manga today too - one chapter of ふらいんぐうぃっち and one chapter of 恋より青く to finish the volume. I miss reading my VNs, but I’m too tired to concentrate. Next week!
My flight was cancelled, so I had to change my flight to earlier, and I because of that I didn’t have time to read yesterday. Today I read a bit on the plane, but I had to wake up 3 hours earlier thad usual, so I had my limit. I probably won’t have much time to read in the following days, but this part of life is also important

Something is happening with Lishu! She’s probably kidnapped, but we’ll see in the following chapters. And Maomao is finally home!
February 24th!
I read this week’s BBC assingment of ルックバック today. I actually read a few pages too far last week, so it was only a little bit of reading left for this week - about 8 pages.
February 25th!
Started Volume 8 of とんがり帽子のアトリエ today, and read the first chapter.
February 26th!
I was very excited that よつばと volume 16 was being realeased today, and was planning to read that, but was foiled by no digital edition existing
I wanted to buy a physical copy anyway since I already have the others, but I’m sad that I have to wait for ~2-3w for it to be delivered now.
BUT I still did some reading today. I started reading 絶対に風呂に入りたくない彼女VS絶対に風呂に入れたい彼氏. The chapters are short so I read the first 6. It’s pretty cute!
Continuing 逆転, spoke to two witnesses, nothing significant, but seems like I’m progressing at a nice pace through this investigation segment at least.
After the book really felt like getting through something quick so cracked open the next in You and I are Polar Opposites which is an extremely chill, extremely relaxing read (though there is one really annoying dude [to read] who is so anxious he is constantly going off on long extremely hard-to-read tangents).
I grabbed an english language copy of Apothecary Diaries to parallel read with my JPN version when I finish 逆転, and a physical of よつばと6 as I couldn’t find it on Bookwalker and it’s the topic de jure on SNS again, so may as well…

While waiting for my volume of よつばと 16 to arrive, and in between reading ルックバック & NANA for bookclubs, I’m going to read some SR stories, starting today with 占い師・藤鬼
Wow, it’s almost the end of the month already. When I started this I didn’t know how it would go tracking my reading more closely every day, but I’ve read every day, most days for well over an hour. I’m still enjoying it so I’ll probably carry on through March. Very likely that I’ll be taking a 10~ day break near the end of march though when I go visit back home, with just a tiny bit of reading here and there.
Anyway, in honour of it being the end of February, I want to try and finish off お探し物 tomorrow, to get to a lovely round 5 novels completed for the month, and because it’s been ongoing for so long now. Will probably be very doable but will have to push it a little bit, and not do any of 一瞬を生きる君を, even though I’m enjoying it!
thoughts on 一瞬を生きる君を
Some of my students recommended this book, and then I saw it pop up in the popular releases section of a few bookshops, so had to buy it. It’s very fluctuating in difficulty - I’d say it’s probably the hardest novel (excluding 風立ちぬ) I’ve read so far in a vacuum, even though it’s not the hardest experience now that I’m a bit better at reading. Part of that is probably the total lack of prior context I have, compared to almost every other book of this level I’ve read. There’s also a surprisingly large amount of 四字熟語 and vocab I’ve never seen before, compared to other books. It really does make 村上春樹 look very very easy by comparison. Although, it does keep flittering back and forth between incredibly poetic sentences where I have to look up 3 things to understand it, and 4 pages straight of it being really quite simple. More depth than I expected from this kind of book, but I don’t mind - just reminds me that I’m not quite as good as I sometimes think I am, and I’ve still got a long way to go to proper reading “fluency”, which is always good to be reminded of!
psycho-pass was for once fairly easy! well there was still jargon (science and agriculture this time) but no quotes! also finished リアル vol 2 and am slightly sad i don’t have another volume to immediately dive into. it ran for 16 volumes so i’ll have to pick up the rest at some point if they ever go on sale/coinback
