February 11th - Home post
One chapter of ふらいんぐうぃっち, one chapter of 恋より青く2 and a few pages of 徒然日和 2. All three of them are level 20 on Natively, but their difficult levels feel very different to me. I like a challenge for sure, but I’m glad that I have some easier manga to read too!

- I’m also using a randomiser to clear out my TBRs and it threw ふぉとくら１ at me which I’ve had hanging around for a while. Turns out it’s… basically a ecchi comedy, but surprisingly enough it’s an easy to read ecchi comedy and it was for the most part funny enough and short enough that I could just plough straight through it. I’ll probably pick this up again just because it’s relatively easy. It’s a pretty good demonstration of my effort-to-reward thesis, because if it had been in any way difficult I probably would have dropped it but it is so relatively simplistic that it was a pretty enjoyable read and I even picked up a few (dirty) words.

I read a bit more Dーダーク・ロード 2―吸血鬼ハンター 11. I just started the book, nothing interesting happened yet.
Konosuba Vol.1
The book is rather boring but I will read every day a bit until I finish it.
I also played some Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. There aren’t any interesting mods out yet: There is no rush for me to finish it. I will wait some more.

Return of the formatting! A good solid chunk of お探し物 completed on the plane and train back home. Haven’t actually started book 2 of ノルウェイの森, but am sticking it on here for future (i.e. tomorrow’s) posterity. Other than that, bits and pieces. Normal service now returning for this week!

I think I’m slowly getting better at this whole reading Japanese thing because I’m able to read two chapters in the same amount of time that I needed to read one chapter when I first started.

12th feb
today’s psycho-pass section was quite difficult (almost entirely narration, plus some makishima-isms) but i coped, just about. sherdock continues to be have a serious case of emotional whiplash and is much more violent than i was expecting? there’s horror elements?? every time i see sherdock i’m reminded of how he has kyubey’s silhouette??? but it’s fun. low budget schlocky tv drama vibes in the best possible way.

Gotta say, today was one of those days where you have zero motivation and feel tired, but I still insisted with myself to sit down and read, and I have to say, it was very enjoyable. A big issue I have with anything I do is that, after doing something for a little while, I tend to drop or not do it at all for a long time. Having said that though, this format, and knowing everyone else is facing their own difficulties but still keep on doing it, really pulled me through. It’s still a bit of a chore obviously, to run through jisho and decipher, but I was enjoying it so much! after doing it a few times (especially with grammar points) I’m able to understand sentence structure and casual notations slightly more easily now, so I guess, I’m really eager to see where my standing will be on the end of march
