Oh, I didn’t know that read-along was happening; thanks for mentioning it. I will be watching that thread to see what people think. I’ve been very slowly reading the whole よつばと series; it’s helped me so much with my vocabulary, and it’s also such a joy.
I loved reading 壁の穴 on Satori! In fact, it was one of the first long stories that I read and I still think back to it when I run into words in other books like 仏壇、塩鮭、罠だ！
Today I read most of Chap. 40 of よつばと！This chapter is heavy on images and the language is minimal (much of it is Yotsuba biking and encountering a variety of challenges). So I’m quickly making my way toward the end of Vol. 6!

I’ve been quite busy the past couple days and read just five pages of 蜘蛛ですが、なにか yesterday and also reread another five pages of ビバリウム Adoと私 today - I hope to hop back on the reading train in the next day or so though!

Finished chapter six of ちいさな森のオオカミちゃん (82%) Thankfully there’s less sport specific vocab next chapter which should make it somewhat easier to read.

No, it’s my first time reading this manga. During one of my searches for potential reading material some years ago, it piqued my interest and I remember that javerend also talked about this series’ merits and mentioned liking it, so I made a mental note to give it a try at one point and that time is now. So far, so good.

Carried on where I left off during the readathon today by reading some more ふらいんぐうぃっち / Flying Witch. Just the 10 pages which feels like a good amount for me at the level I’m at right now 
I’m glad I chose to read something that I’ve already watched the anime of which makes it a bit easier to follow as a beginner, and I was also completely prepared to not understand anything that Makoto’s uncle says haha!

Got more reading done than expected today. Story is starting to pick up! I feel so bad for poor Euini.
I loved these books! I wasn’t a huge historical fiction (though obviously this is not straight-up historical fiction) fan when I read them, but I still really dug the series. I should read them again…hmm…

I liked book 1 but when I re-read it recently I couldn’t summon the effort to move to book 2 for whatever reason. They are like halfway to what I like but also they sort of make me want to read Mr Midshipman Hornblower instead

Woof, got to it a bit late, so didn’t manage the whole first section of the chapter (the organization of this book is a lil confusing: there are named+numbered chapters, and then sections within the text that are also numbered, but not named, which start counting from 1, but where the first one often appears after some amount of text…

Today I read the first chapter of 三日間の幸福 via the bookwalker trial. I don’t know whether I want to buy it and keep reading or not but it was interesting. It seemed a little hard to me but not unreadable. I had to look up some words but I struggled some with longer sentences. It was around 10 pages of the bookwalker phone size.
childhood friends make a promise to each other about the future and then never talk after that. Book opens with the sensei asking the class about the value of a life and saying the average salaryman’s life earning is about 3億円 and challenging the class to answer what the remainder of their lives are worth. Alternative title when this was originally a web serial was “I sold my lifespan for ten thousand yen per year” so the protagonist doesn’t put a lot of value on his life.

I reached the “Conan talks a lot as he explains the crime” chapter in 名探偵コナン, so overall a low number of pages today. With a three-day weekend and family over, it’ll be difficult to catch up to my year’s reading goal. I should be 50.1% of the way to my goal, but I’m currently sitting at 49.4%.

First time fighting Shogum today, I stole a miracle sword! Soon after that, I finally went back to the Realm of the Mighty.
Well the final boss didn’t use like half his attacks (I even double-checked we all had Defending Champion for when he uses Magic Burst, and then he just didn’t use it, the hell), but thanks to that, he was fairly easy. Apparently he can be rechallenged in postgame, too, though idk if he is (or gets) any stronger then, like the legacy bosses. In any case, I finished the main story at 133:05, and now it’s on to the postgame story! Aside from the normal quests, there’re 25 DLC story quests. Probably most of them being ones I’ve never done before.
