not a super productive day but i did book myself onto the december jlpt so there’s that

Had no time to read yesterday. Read first half of Chap. 36 of よつばと！ today. August is when I start preparing for the fall semester, so I’m feeling pulled between a lot of different tasks; I’m going to try to keep doing just a smidge of reading every day if at all possible.

First manga of August completed with 春風のエトランゼ Vol 2 done. I still found the part I stopped at last time a little hard to understand but I feel I got a somewhat better grasp of what was happening. Reading the reviews of the English version people are confused by the same elements of their relationship as I was when reading in Japanese, so I suppose I’m not misunderstanding the language as much as I thought 
I think I will give it a little while before I start on Vol 3, and work through more of my currently reading list.

yesterday’s chapter, while only slightly longer than others of the sequel (but still shorter than chapters from the original series), took me a long time to get through 
not only was there so very much talking, but there were a lot of words i had to look up
things like
辞退・じたい・declining
譲り・ゆずり・inheritance
頼り・たより・dependance
破門・はもん・excommunication
禁忌・きんき・taboo (kinky has to come from this, right?)
among others
i can’t find a definition of 術具 on jisho, but i can infer from the kanji and context that it’s a magical tool
i had to look up whole sentences a few times because even if i knew the words – and maybe grasped what it said – i couldn’t figure out how everything fit to be coherent
