I remember someone mentioned they had a workaround by making a script which inverted the colors on the reader page. They never shared the script, so I don’t know how effective or helpful it was for the eyes.
Yeah! And often I find reading out loud for a few lines or a page or two is just enough to gather focus and properly kickstart the reading session and then continue silently as well.

I’ve noticed a trend that my life gets busy in the afternoons because I try to get all my chores/life events happen/etc. Maybe this is the push I need to prioritize reading first thing in the day.
Today I’m going to build some houses to increase the size of the local village. I have to gather sticks, mud, and rocks. I’ll probably find some creatures on the way to fill out my encyclopedia too.
Also I finally learned how to make the rats angry. 3 down, 13 to go…

First week done! Yay! \o/
I started out this week by working through chapters 10-11 of ちいさな森のオオカミちゃん 2 and stoped mid way through ch 12. I picked up よつばと2 from a resale shop during this week and finished it today! I also worked a little bit on reading the section of 玉藻の恋 for ABBC this week, but I’ve ran out of steam.
Next week I’m hoping to finish the bookclub part of 玉藻の恋, start reading ルリドラゴン (I found a physical copy of it last week, which I’m very excited about!), and maybe read a bit more of オオカミちゃん 2!

Made an attempt at Silver Trench but ran out of food and had to escape on floor 38. After beating Western Cave, I switched out my Absol’s PP Pouch for Small Stomach and brought a ton of apples back to Silver Trench. Then beat Meteor Cave, and that was the last dungeon! Like I suspected, the final dungeons really weren’t worth it considering what little dialogue they give you, but I’m so glad to be done now! Now back to Rune Factory.
according to jisho it’s an archaic way of saying ‘but, even though’ after the ba stem of a verb, so it might be that?

Got to the final boss of seasons, died, remembered you have to go through an annoying section every time you die here, so I will go pick up some supplies and come back to this fight later because it is very annoying. Never beat it as a kid and I used save states to beat it on the 3ds virtual console release when that came out, so if I beat him in japanese it will really be the first time I’ve done it as intended

Not much reading yesterday compared to the gargantuan amount I managed the day before, but at least I managed some just to keep up consistency.

Day 8!
Gotta run for an appointment so I’m splitting my reading up, but a very easy day of Chaos;Head as I’m mopping up some of the alternate choice alternatives on my way to ending 3.Couldn’t directly time it due to interruptions but I think I probably hit 11k or more characters in an hour. Currently at 13.5k, planning to do more later and try to get more words mined because I still don’t have enough.
On that note, doing Anki was pretty pleasant today
