I didn’t really get around to more 逆転裁判 yesterday or any other reading really, but I got a bit more done this morning. Up to an interrogation room. Probably about time I learn the name kanji for some characters…
It’s worth noting that I think I’ve switched modes of ‘primary’ reading. With books and manga I typically try and read at least a chapter, but with 逆転裁判 now I’m just kind of reading until I hit 10 new words I bother to jot down or I just get tired. Kind of fun, and quite relaxing.

clearly meant 'same age' but was weird how close it was to 同じ。 Not on WK, jisho lists it as an N1 word
i swear i didn’t mean to read all of parayste vol 8 but there were a lot of pages with no text and i got a bit carried away… i also got icked out by some of it which doesn’t happen often!

This has been my approach for years and I find it works really well. When I was studying to teach English as a second language, I was taught that a lesson should contain a maximum of 10 new items, and that has stuck with me.
Finished Chap. 30 of よつばと！ Vol. 5. I actually found this chapter a bit troubling. Yanda is like a more malevolent Jambo (who has also disturbed me a bit with his lack of appropriate boundaries). I do love Yotsuba’s take-no-prisoners attitude in the face of it.
Chapter 16 of とんがり帽子のアトリエ today. Again, this is next weeks book club reading but I’m giving myself a head start since I’m travelling all week next week.
The lure of my comfort manga was too great, so I’ve started reading the next vol of Bluelock (is it possible to have too many books on the go at once??) I don’t even like football ha but I do love this. Just a fun, ott story.
I also managed 3 pages of the light novel today, which I’m really happy with, as it’s the longest I’ve been able to concentrate on it in one session. I think this is because I’m now past the first part of the story which covered the protagonist’s childhood (lots and lots of unfamiliar vocab) and now I’m on to the bit where he’s older and watching football matches, and my past 7 vols of Bluelock have prepared me well for this
Ridiculously unproductive day of reading lol. Shinchan is full of pop culture references and I often end up in rabbit holes trying to figure out what the joke is. This time it started with looking up コント・ラッキー７ and ended with discovering Amazon Prime released a Takeshi’s Castle reboot last year
Today was a good day for reading. There was action. Lots of action I really like that フェルディナンド has gotten way more screentime the last few books. I feel like I’m being rewarded for sticking with this series. Amidst the action, there were also a couple of moments where I went "oho? ". One being the scene where ローゼマイン is using her magic to scan the entire room for foreign magic powers to search for marks left after intruders. There were so many people in that room and they were all registered as foreign magic, except… 不思議なことに、フェルディナンドの魔力にはほとんど反発を感じない What’s that supposed to mean?! フェルディナンドの魔力に慣れすぎているせいだろうか。Nuh-uh, I refuse to believe that’s the only reason, young lady. (Can you tell I really want this ship to be sailing? )
