I read 25/31 days.
That’s 66 books and 1,191 pages.
Well, got a little depressed that one week and was hardly in the headspace to even read, and took me a while to get back into the rhythm of things.
Put a sizeable dent in the Todaku Free stories in the meantime since last I posted.
46% of Intermediate Japanese stories. ( abstract と言う everywhere…)
57% of よつばと! 2.
Ordered a set of 聲の形 and よつばと! and I’m excited for them to get here.
While I wished I’d have gone 31/31 for my first month, those 25 days of focused reading still helped anyway. It motivated me to grind WK a little more intensely. Internalized a lot of grammar structures. Found out I was a lot more prepared for reading after all.
Don’t think I’m ‘‘play Pokemon in full hiragana’’ levels of prepared, but it’s a work in progress.

I’m kind of keeping up with 4-5 manga, and at least a couple of my clubs are technically finished or on hiatus so I can try to catch up/not fall further behind. I’d like to start the next IBC read next week so should try to finish something before then.

Total books finished since I started learning: 45
Considering my overall goal this year was to reach 50 books read in total (having read 32 by the end of last year), I’m happy that I’m easily on track for that now (and that I kept it as a relatively modest and achievable goal). 2 of the books this month had already been started previously, so really I read closer to the equivalent of 4 books (and maybe something with and 上 and 下 should just count as a single book?)

Read some Satori Reader stories that I’ve already read, did my ANKI DRILL and skimmed through random Young Animal issue I bought long time ago
also bought me more books that are Way Beyond My Comprehension Level: whole set of 魔女の宅急便 (this one is more or less okay but starting it will be a pain still), five volumes of GUIN SAGA (needed me more hills to climb someday), and first volume of 銀河英雄伝説 (someday…)
Also bought three volumes of FMA, hoping to try to join the club later, still above my level but Man Do I Not Care

I was really pleased with myself that I’d built up enough stamina to read ~4 pages a day of this novel without it being a big struggle - so my body decided that it should punish my hubris by giving me an infection and a fever so I have the attention span of a goldfish 
BUT - 2 pages is still good. A year ago 2 pages was a struggle, so the fact that thats now my “easy” amount of reading is a sign of progress too.
Definitely need to read more consistently so hopefully I can take part in this:

Chapter 12 of よつばと! Swimming pool chapter. Had some nice laughs. Spotted some recently learned WK kanji and words. I don’t know… seeing those fresh kanji and recognizing them… can’t explain it but feelsgoodman.jpg.
I’m starting to get better/more comfortable at spotting words in colloquial forms/(contractions?), too.
Like:
おめーも ➯ お前も
もっかい ➯ もう一回
I could be wrong with these, though…
The set of よつばと! manga that I ordered arrived today. Exciting. Nice to see I won’t run out of enjoyable reading material soon.
