I read 9 stories from the Tadoku collection and the first chapter of よつばと! 1

チワワの花すけ~すごい!
Cute story about a cheeky Chihuaha. Learned 留守番, a WK 18 word (sigh). Also the colloquialism こら . I’m sure that will come up again. -
ぼくのお父さん
Feelsgoodman.jpg to see WK kanji in the wild - like 白鳥 and be able to recognize, read, and know the meaning. -
彼氏がほしい!
This one right here. 10/10 recommend. Very funny to read this girl’s woes and solutions to it. -
まだ?
I still have trouble discerning もう from まだ in isolation (without a negative or affirmative verb) so this helped me internalize those. -
雨 Great for onomatopoeia.
Concerning よつばと!, well, let’s just say I had an easier time reading it this time than the last time I tried. Still had trouble, especially with colloquial endings to words. Thankfully, I was already familiar with だろう and かな from playing Pokemon. Since this is my last reading for today, I will try a guided reading using the resources from the big discussion thread that was mentioned by someone.
Still, I don’t think my comprehension was too bad. I’m sure that by doing another reading and looking up words at the same time, I’ll be able to grasp those instances of colloquial endings in no time. ![]()
