๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“š Read Japanese Every Day Challenge - Summer 2024 ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ

July 4

I read 9 stories from the Tadoku collection and the first chapter of ใ‚ˆใคใฐใจ! 1

  1. ใƒใƒฏใƒฏใฎ่Šฑใ™ใ‘~ใ™ใ”ใ„!
Cute story about a cheeky Chihuaha. Learned ็•™ๅฎˆ็•ช, a WK 18 word (sigh). Also the colloquialism ใ“ใ‚‰ . Iโ€™m sure that will come up again.

  2. ใ„ใฃใฑใ„

  3. ใผใใฎใŠ็ˆถใ•ใ‚“
Feelsgoodman.jpg to see WK kanji in the wild - like ็™ฝ้ณฅ and be able to recognize, read, and know the meaning.

  4. ๅฝผๆฐใŒใปใ—ใ„!
This one right here. 10/10 recommend. Very funny to read this girlโ€™s woes and solutions to it.

  5. ่ตคใ„ใƒปใƒปใƒป

  6. ใพใ ?
I still have trouble discerning ใ‚‚ใ† from ใพใ  in isolation (without a negative or affirmative verb) so this helped me internalize those.

  7. ๅคœใฎ็ฉบใง

  8. ้›จ Great for onomatopoeia.

  9. ใ‚†ใใ ใ‚‹ใพ

Concerning ใ‚ˆใคใฐใจ!, well, letโ€™s just say I had an easier time reading it this time than the last time I tried. Still had trouble, especially with colloquial endings to words. Thankfully, I was already familiar with ใ ใ‚ใ† and ใ‹ใช from playing Pokemon. Since this is my last reading for today, I will try a guided reading using the resources from the big discussion thread that was mentioned by someone.

Still, I donโ€™t think my comprehension was too bad. Iโ€™m sure that by doing another reading and looking up words at the same time, Iโ€™ll be able to grasp those instances of colloquial endings in no time. :slightly_smiling_face:
