Another shorter read today, fairly dialogue heavy pages this time though. Sometimes just turning the page and seeing a lot of text can be a bit intimidating, but I powered on anyway.

- Finished 逆転裁判２!!! 2-4 really is one of the best cases in the franchise, and it’s really satisfying to be able to finish it in Japanese. I’m debating if I want to play 逆転裁判３ this year or try a different VN later in the year.
- Decided to read a new RomCom because I didn’t necessarily want to continue the two RomComs I was already reading right this second, but I also didn’t want to jump straight into a completely different genre. Enjoying this one, the narrator is different enough that even though we’re hitting roughly the same themes it’s still kind of enjoyable. We’ve barely gotten started though (only like 3,000文字 in and I’ve already seen 20-30 new words at least…, not to mention the MC’s twisty way of speaking)

Started reading the final volume of 徒然日和! It was really smooth sailing for awhile, then got totally lost in one conversation… feels like it’s always feast or famine with this one, heh. Occasional struggles aside, I’ve been feeling pretty good about my reading ability lately, to the point where I feel like I could take on a lot of stuff and puzzle it out. Maybe I’ll be a little more ambitious with my next read…
Frieren is an amazing series, and I’d love to read it in Japanese one day. My backlog is getting wildly out of control myself but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not buying anything new unless it’s on sale and I know for sure I want to read it. I use Mokuro to help with lookups which is super helpful, and I feel I’ve been picking up kanji and vocab passively for sure! Indeed cool that we’re around the same place!
おめでとう！！ From my memory those games have a lot of text that takes awhile to get through, so that’s quite the accomplishment!!!
The secret is that because Shu Takumi was writing to fit on to a GBA screen, he mostly shies away from long run-on sentences that get really confusing. Once you get your court and murder vocab down you can get pretty far, even with all the jokes.

Wellp, my TV isn’t working anymore, and I have no clue why. It just refuses to turn on. I just bought this thing a few months ago! And it’s not because of the power outage; the light’s been off for the past couple days, I just didn’t think anything of it bc I forgot I hadn’t unplugged it when I unplugged my Switch and Wii, not seeing myself using either of them for the time being. Ugh, and I put the Wii’s sensor bar on top of the TV, and it doesn’t come with extra adhesive, so while I managed to get it off without damaging anything (that stuff’s pretty heavy duty), I won’t be able to stick it anywhere if I get a new one, so the Wii + games were also wasted money. Grah. I really hate technology sometimes. Ugh, I wanna cry

Went to the public library today to wait out a big storm with a tornado chance (they’ve got shelters; luckily, they were unnecessary), and since they’ve got free WiFi with no password, I was able to do the trick to get the DLC!! Most of it’s post-game quests, but I did get to buy a couple pieces of equipment, and I unlocked the special guests. I don’t get to go very often, but I should remember to bring my DS next time I do so I can update the shop.
But now Milly looks like herself! I don’t have all of her equipment, granted, and I probably won’t get it (everyone’s got one piece that’s gated behind 30 guests in the inn), but her hair and her top is close enough.
Anyway, I didn’t actually make any progress today. Did a bit more spelunking, and grinded some genie sanguinis on that island in Loch Storn, but all I got to show for it was a handful of snakeskins from the diethons also present. I was hoping for at least one phial of saint’s ashes, but then, those are the rare drop.
Same thing happened to me recently, wall mounted TV in my bedroom just… Stopped working completely one day. No light, no nothing, nothing had changed except I hadn’t used it for few days. I want to get a new one but dealing with the mount and finding a new one that’ll fit the mount feels like a faff and I’ve been procrastinating.
I tried replacing the fuse in the plug incase it was something like that, but no luck… Maybe you could try that? Sucks when technology gives out on us when we’re not expecting it!
