I’m sure there should be some third party adhesive or other way to attach it, you should look it up
Anyway, I’m very sorry you have to deal with all this, but I’m glad it didn’t stop youfrom continuing your studies! I wish you best of luck and hope you’d be able to get everything fixed!
夏の日の夢
Completed the final two entries - Hearn continues his ricksaw journey and daydreams and ponders some more. These were similar to his diary entry ones but a lot more poetic and dream-like.
And that’s this one complete! As well as my Lafcadio Hearn reading journey - for now a least. Will be looking for something else to start tomorrow. Was thinking I’d read my next artbook along with a short story of some kind - will see what I can find.
Made it to chapter 13 today, which had a couple of pages I could read without any lookups! I think when the younger characters are talking this is more likely to happen, but I don’t know if I’m overthinking it.
I didn’t read today. lt’s been storming all day and my dog Shinn is beyond terrified of thunder. So l have to try and keep her as calm as possible. Nearly hopeless job.
Hopefully l can get in some reading later today.
I had this same problem not long ago. Try these tips: Be sure there is nothing in front of the TV. That can stop the remote power from getting to wherever it needs to go to turn the TV on.
Also it may be that the power box needs replacing. That was my problem. I hope it starts working very soon.
More 経験ゼロ. A bit of a slog, which is annoying because what’s tripping me up are actually vaguely familiar words. Alas, I suppose this is how you get better.
Thank you, everyone who expressed sympathies. I set the TV against the dining room wall for the time being this morning since idk how to dispose of it, and my dad took it over to his desk but idk what he’s doing with it. Also I already tossed the remote.
I didn’t pay for a warranty, and I wouldn’t have the first clue about literally anything to do with taking it apart or fixing it. I’m that unicorn millennial who’s entirely technologically stupid. I’ve tried to learn, but it all makes absolutely zero sense to me and never sticks in my brain.
(Actually, I’m not sure if I am a millennial? I know several years ago, at least, 1996 was included, but now it seems to be considered the generation after? Whatever, generations are as made-up and arbitrary as astrology. It still stands that everyone in my age group is expected to be good with computers/tech but I’m the exact opposite, though not for lack of trying.)
I’m not planning on getting a new one. There’s no point; it’d just end up being even more wasted money. The only thing I want to do with it is take it onto the back porch and smash it into smithereens with a hammer. I’d probably just end up hurting myself somehow, but a guy can fantasize.
・1 chapter of ダイの大冒険
Didn’t feel like doing anything today. Managed to yesterday, even if it took ages to get around to it (not until the library, in fact), but I couldn’t quite bring myself to today.
i remember listening to some californians reminisce about taking their old busted CRTs out into the desert and blowing them up with fireworks or shotguns.
i’ve personally only ever smashed a TV in a smash room in Osaka with a baseball bat. they give you a lot of protective gear for that
Well, next time you should do it. Usually, a new appiance already comes with at least short wartanty though, even without additional payment…
Then again, now that your father tried to fix it, the warranty would be nullified…
Anyway, I really hope you’d find a way to fix the situation so that at least your Wii+ won’t be wasted…
In any case, may something really nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaice happen to you to compensate for this all!
Maybe taking a look at it for you? My dad offered to drive over and look at mine but I told him not to go out of his way. Maybe when he next happens to be over.
I’m also a millennial (1989 here, I dunno what the range is though) and I’m pretty good with a computer but don’t really like to mess around with electronics. Replacing a fuse is as much as I’ll do. (Though actually, I took apart and replaced the battery in my PS5 controller last year using a video demonstration!) For other stuff, dad will take a look
Finished the chapter of 徒然日和 I started yesterday, then decided to pick up a short yuri one-shot I found earlier this week called ホントのキモチ about two roommates who’ve been long time friends and… maybe more??? It was short, sweet, and had some relatable themes. Hardest thing, honestly, was a ton of katakana being used for random words.
I’ve been enjoying these one-shots! It’s like a different little challenge each time, and they fit nicely into my other reading. Might go hunting for a few more…
Last day of April is tomorrow already! Good job so far, everyone!
April 28
It was one of these days I was very busy. There were just too many things to do but I still managed to play a bit 英雄伝説 閃の軌跡III. Lots of tutorials to read but I admit I skipped some of them. I already played enough Legend of Heroes games to know how to play them.
Got it in a bit earlier because I have a mahjong league match in a couple of hours. I’m looking forward to really getting into this volume this bank holiday weekend!
