I found a few games on Surugaya, and luckily they’ve got a free shipping promotion ongoing, so I don’t have to worry about anything selling out like last time! I also discovered that DQVI has LNs! They’ve only got vol 1 though, and when I looked them up on Bookmeter to see how many volumes there were, I saw that there were three different ones. Since they’ve all got 3 volumes and are by the same author, I’m assuming they’re just different-cover editions. I’m seeing if I can get a set and the DQVI manga thru CDJ’s proxy service.
I have to work extra hours for the next two weeks, so I don’t exactly feel bad about a bit of a spree rn. Although no I don’t care to think about how much I spent.
Unrelated, but I’ve got 6Terry as my phone wallpaper now.

Finished vol 6 and 7! I should be coming up on the point I left off on in the anime. Honestly, I thought it was before this, but I must have just been getting stuff mixed up as usual, as I’m pretty sure I remember this current fight.

Found a much better website to read the latest chapters in Japanese in good quality, so this time I didn’t have to switch to English for individual chapters that were low quality
Wow wow wow, the latest chapter, oh boy. Despite having been spoilt somewhat, the big reveal still hit, especially the (OBVIOUSLY BIG SPOILER!!) nonchalant 能力: アクマの実, subverting a lot of our previous knowledge about devil fruits if they may all originally come from the devil fruit. And of course seeing Imu like that…

Decided to give a new science fiction yuri serialization a shot on a whim. It’s got kind of a dystopian gloomy scifi vibe, set in the dirty bottom layer slums (下層) of this world. There are androids called avatars that can have human minds uploaded into them, and the main character finds one broken in an alley with most of its memory erased. SF yuri is so hard to come by (still waiting for my epic space opera yuri!!!) so I’m curious to see how this one goes and hope it does well.
Surprisingly it wasn’t the vocab that made this one a little tough, despite having some technology-related words, but rather some of the phrasing. Also might not help that I’m tired… I did struggle with some specifics, but think I got the general vibe enough. Might revisit it again this week with a fresh set of eyes.
Anyway, chapter 2 is out now but becomes free next week. so I’ll probably pick it back up then and see how it goes!

- Another case of Conan. Thankfully as I recall all these cases were pretty good, so it’s not like I’m burning through filler or something. Still, even knowing how each case goes, they’re still a bit tiring to read - each case (four chapters or so) takes me about an hour…
How are these going? I was given this collection by a Japanese friend years ago (it was a favourite of hers) but have never opened it. Was thinking I should read it soon.
