Kiki-Mimi Radio: Episodes 23 - 25
I know we’re only a few days into this, but I feel like I’m already getting faster. Even though I’m living in Japan, it does make a difference to sit down and dedicate time to reading full pages vs. reading train signs or food labels (which is still useful).
I snagged this at Kinokuniya, they have a few variations! わかりやすい。

I tried looking on eBay first for DQIX, and vanilla search, the second result was an EN copy for over $70. I don’t remember how much I paid for my second copy, but it was not that much. That’s crazy. (The first result was DQXI.) After filtering for Platform:DS and Region Code:Japan, the second result was a listing for both DQIX and DQMJ for $35, so I got that. So that was easier than I thought! JP copies of old Switch games seem to tend to be cheaper than EN copies, but I wasn’t sure if that would hold true for DS games. I’m p sure I’ve seen people ask for over $200 for one before. Definitely over $100. Crazy.
Wait, if they’re all this cheap, I could get JP copies of the other DQ DS games… There are some I don’t have in EN because they were already pretty expensive by the time I went looking for them. But $10-20 for each one? I’ll take that.

Sometimes I wonder… how’s he gonna keep thinking of new scenarios for THIRTEEN volumes lol. But I’ve got em all and hopefully I’ll read them all haha

10 minutes reading done
I swore I wouldn’t read Tadoku books again, a while back, because they’re not “true” native materials. But they have their use. It’s nice to read things where I get all of it and where I can read most of the kanji. Good for kanji revision and practice and good for exposure to new words and good to read in larger volumes.

I wasn’t liking my table format as much as the one I had last season, so I’ve modified it to be a bit more like the old one. I did figure out that placing colons in the header row sets the column alignment, which is neato.
Anyway, read the rest of this week’s BBC assignment for 午后のあくび, which I’m absolutely adoring. It’s cute and clever and just feels so magical! Might be my favorite thing I’ve read thus far. The vocabulary is a bit of a challenge, though, so it’s slow going but worth the effort!
Well, I’m all caught up on book clubs for the week which means I’ll have to decide my next read tomorrow. We’ll see where the wind takes me!
April 4
I’m still busy. In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I did quests and random tasks in the Nibelheim region. It’s probably time to continue with the main story.

Two chapters of ウマ娘 シンデレラグレイ
Yes, generally JP games are cheaper than ENG ones (save for the big ticket titles)! I picked up most of the DQ titles for GBC/A, PlayStation, and DS a little while ago for not too much. Surugaya (which sometimes has free shipping promos) and Japan Retro Direct are good sources 
I just read 2 pages of vol 3. of happiness , will complete it tommorow probably .

とんがり帽子のアトリエ - 7 more pages read up to page 114 of Vol 1. I totally forgot to time it. I watched the two episodes released of the anime (twice!) today which spurred me on to read more! 
I didn’t quite cover to the end of the second episode yet, but I have like… probably just 8 more pages or so. And then I’m going to try and stay just ahead of the episodes each week if I can
