Shopping chapters! I remembered correctly that the sword they see is Dragonsbane. That’s the one I gave my builder Tristan in my Moonbrooke fic, though in actuality I brought the poison needle. Its attack may be terrible, especially at this point in the game, but its chance to instakill… I did switch to Mountaincleaver once I was able to craft that, though.
There’s a sword in IX that’s called Dragonsbane, too, though it’s a longsword rather than a shortsword. They’re even both named ドラゴンキラー in JP as well. (I broke out my DQIX Official Guide Books to find it. I think the DS games are region-locked, so even if I got a JP copy, I’d also need to get a JP DS… I wonder if we’ll ever get a remake of it. I would buy a Switch 2 for that. DQIX is my favourite.)
New game! Though presently I’m planning not to start it before I finish Moonbrooke with Hephaestus (one of my two current EN saves, and the one I’m furthest along in of all of them. I’ve been playing him for the past couple days instead of サーヤ)

10 minutes reading done
I am glad that the more I read the handwritten text, using screenshots and other tools to help at times, the more I’m able to read them without tools, including kanji. Read 20 minutes today because time got away from me
Interesting stories so far. Looking up a couple of words but nothing too difficult. Certain sentence structures feel a bit unfamiliar but I think I get the idea of them.
Did my ABBC reading for this week in full tonight, as well as 1 of 3 chapters (they’re quite short) of the BBC offering! Also have potentially found a local study buddy to chat with! My output is very lacking, so I was happy to spend part of my afternoon texting back and forth.
Was hoping to perhaps get a bit more Japanese studying done this weekend than I did, but then again I think I’m always hoping that… On the plus side, I’ve got my newly Linux-ed tablet working just the way I’d like which is making studying on the go much more pleasant. Going to try to spend my free time wisely this week!
Me when I fully understand what's going on in a manga:
I was quite happy about finishing my first book with a light green natively level Nausicaä is rated as level 35 on there. Last year, I gave up after trying to read the first few pages, but now I want to add the rest of the Nausicaä books to my next Japan order Some pages are pretty hard to get through though language-wise, not gonna lie
アオのハコ (Blue Box) is something I heard about recently and I had been thinking about giving it a shot. This weekend, some volumes are still free on bookwalker, so I decided to go ahead and read it. I’m.. not sure yet There are a lot of times where I’m thinking “Why am I even reading this, this seems stupid” but then again, I am intrigued enough to keep reading and there are some nice scenes as well.. Hm. I gotta see at the end of volume 3 if I want to keep reading enough to buy some volumes
とんがり帽子のアトリエ - 12 pages up to page 107 of Vol.1 - 40 minutes. I started a new chapter so a couple of these were pages without text! I wanted to get the reading in early today as I’m now leaving for a roast Easter dinner with my dad.
Page that made me laugh more than it probably should have:
Today’s chapter of ケロロ軍曹 was truly wild…
Then again, that whole manga is truly wild!
Also, just realized I somehow forgot to mark March 28th on Bookmeter as a day I did reading, so Bookmeter thought I had a streak break that day, when in reality I didn’t
Also, once again, the main character of 蜘蛛ですが、なにか? has once again demostrated a, should I say, less pleasant side of her character… I guess part of the problem here is that she became incredibly powerful and, even though she earned that power by her own hard work, she still got somewhat corrupted by that power…
Anyway, I’ve managed to finish vol. 12.
I also hoped to play some FF XIV, but am too tired right now, so am going to bed instead… Still, definitely not a bad day, study-wise!
I have bought 5 volumes each of both series, but ジョジョ is only 5 more volumes left. Also, beginning of a new interesting mini-arc. That being said, ヨナ ended with a cliffhanger …
I completed the book 2 of ハピネス and the leftover pages of book 1 . The story has now started to truly suck me in as i couldn’t keep track of time multiple times due to reading book 2 , actually finished it today itself so my total pages today are -
Got in a good reading session today! I’m enjoying ストロベリーパニック so much I don’t want the novel to end (although there are another two volumes which I’ll have to get my hands on at some point). The writing style is quite poetic which is honestly quite beautiful now I’m getting used to it! It’s also peak yuri which I love
As planned, I finished the third volume of Blue Box while it was still free on bookwalker and I want to continue, so I think I will add some volumes to my next Japan order
Also read one chapter of Frieren today
This evening, I was spoilt the title of the latest One Piece chapter and, what can I say, it is HUGE what’s happening. In the readathon thread, I already talked a bit about the dilemma—I was finally catching up on the latest tankobon volume of One Piece during the readathon but those releases are always a bit behind the weekly releases in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and there didn’t seem to be a good way to read the latest chapters in Japanese other than buying (digital) issues of the magazines or subscribing to it. This is pretty expensive when you’re just following a single series as each chapter would basically cost ~300 Yen. Well, since I was so intrigued by the title of the current chapter that I had to continue reading, I… well… it’s the 大海賊時代, alright?!
the website i used didn’t have a good scan of chapter 1171 though so i read that one in english
Tomorrow, I will read the last few chapters before being truly up to date on the weekly releases!
