This is true I think everything at Kinokuniya is new as well so, usually expensive
Sometimes it is fun to go through a physical bookstore tho!! @ryomori Hopefully everyone’s input helped! If you do really want to go in person to a bookstore and travel to New York for it, I think it would be worth looking up multiple bookstores!! Google tells me there are a few book-offs (second hand) in NYC as well! I’ve never been to those stores myself because I’m far from NY, but it might be good to keep in mind!!
the thing is reading in japanese always is kind of a fight with myself to start, but some pages just flow so easily that it is so much fun.
now i only have to keep with it because i just bought more japanese novels
Today’s big thing was finishing ホリミヤ! (well I still have the bonus volume no.17 to get, and I have to get no.14 which I’ve read but which is missing from my shelf). The end was very good. I like. I’ve technically finished 1 manga series before, but it was 3 very very very short volumes and the whole thing took like 2 hours, so I don’t really count that. This, I’m counting as my first full manga series completed. It took 3 months because it’s been like no.4 on my Japanese priority list in that time, but finally got around to it. Love ホリミヤ.
Also tiny bits of novel and ひぐらし. Novel reading has kind of gotten away from me this last week. Going into the end of this week I want to get back on it, and finish off this month strong. I did about 1280 pages of novels in February according to Natively, and I’m on about 920 now, so very doable to get to 1300 or 1400 before March if I get back on it properly. Might need to deprioritise ひぐらし for a little bit for that though
everyone’s input did help! thanks everyone! well, if i end up going to NYC itd be a whole day thing since id drive to new haven take the train/subway into NYC at around 6-7am and then get back on the train to new haven at around 6pm so id make a whole day about it! it is fun being able to browse books rather then see a ditgal copy and when you are looking online you need to already have a book in mind while at bookstores you can just see what catches your eye
one of the great benefits of living in connecticut, being able to drive to both nyc or boston and still return home. when i go to nyc, not that i go very often, it feels like another world cause i live in a random farm town in connecticut, although i don’t prefer big cities it is fun seeing the big apple from time to time especially times square and shopo around
I will definitely take these suggestions in mind and bring my other manga loving cousin along with me when we end up taking random weekend or school day to go to nyc, especially cause finals are in 7 weeks and just the though of them makes me want to fade away and not study smhsmh
school sucks
Finished Volume 4! Bit less reading then expected but some days it can’t be helped and I am a bit swamped right now with some deadlines. The day should have more hours! Whata cruel world!
Which brings me to my favorite word (sentence?) today:
