I know, I’ve begun the fall challenge 15 days before the end
But right now, the winter challenge is still going on ^^
I did, I did ! On post 24^^
I didn’t tell it was a post holder but it is ^^ (I’m bound to be neighbor with @Akashelia, it’s already the case in the on going challenge^^)
Haha I didn’t notice that! But not surprised as we are in the same time zone, those challenges really highlight that, I usually see the same folk updating at the time where I update before bed (hi @Redglare ), and when I see an update in the middle of the day (for me), I know it must be someone somewhere in Australia (hi @Jintor !) or US people who go to bed when I wake up (hi @javerend )
And then there’s me who often posts in EU waking hours despite being in Australia because my sleep schedule is truly broken (haven’t been updating lately, though…)
While people can track whatever reading they’d like, I think it’s good to keep Japanese in to distinguish it from other challenges. Like my elementary school also had a read everyday of summer challenge. Since the category is reading and not community, this thread gets indexed by Google. Other people may search for Japanese reading challenges, so this’ll make it easier to find.
I was thinking the title looks better without the word “Japanese”. For me it’s clear that this thread is about reading in Japanese because it’s in the Japanese Language category and because, in the original post, I had this at the very beginning of the post:
With that line, the intention of the thread is very clear. That’s obviously a mouthful of a title, so I shortened it to “Read Every Day Challenge”.
If people in this challenge want to track other languages as well on top of their JP, that’s totally ok. I’ve yet to see anyone join without tracking JP at all. I’d be confused if that happened tbh. Those cases would fit more in Campfire imo.
I’m not saying we should do anything about the title, it’s fine either way, I just wanted to express my thoughts on it
Another season, another challenge. Except it’s still the same season for me. It’s the dry season right now and we’ve been having sunny days every day, just the way I like it. Sure, it gets too hot sometimes but that’s better than being wet and cold.Edit: 3rd April. I spoke too soon. When I set up this post, it hadn’t rained for days but since April started it has rained every day. Now it is wet and cold, the worst kind of days for me.Edit 4th April- the sun is back. Yay!
Anyway, with the last challenge I’ve completed a 7-month streak. I hope to continue with the streak for this challenge as well. This year, I picked dialogue-heavy books to read and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I just have to hope that there wouldn’t be too much handwriting in it as well. I gave up a couple series this year already because of that.
Read pgs. 135-139. End of 喪 9。and volume 1 but there’s an omake so it’s not technically the end of the volume yet.
おまけ

4th May
Read pgs. 24-30.
5th May
Read pgs. 31-46.
6th May
Read pgs. 47-53.
According to my English copy, this is the end of chapter 1. However, the Japanese version does not mark off a new chapter with a picture. So I don’t know… maybe I should just mark it off anyway?
7th May
Read pgs. 54-63.
Well, I decided to leave it under the same heading. I didn’t see a chapter break and when I googled it, it seems that the first chapter was 100 pages long in any case.
8th May
Read pgs. 64-73.
9th May
Read pgs. 74-84.
10th May
Read pgs. 85-91.
11th May
Read pgs. 92-98.
12th May
Read pgs. 99-105.
Mostly skipped pg. 106 because it’s handwritten and I can’t understand the kanji. End of 第1話。
Read pg. 143.
I skimmed the copyright page and the extra material at the end. I still can’t read kanji by itself and the writing was too tiny for me to make out. So that took care of pgs. 144-148. End of volume 2.
Also joining this reading challenge! I’m ready for the spring to come and these colder temperatures to disappear In the meantime, I’m going to curl up with a cup of tea, my new manga (hopefully it’ll be my level - しろくまカフェ) and other reading materials.
