29/12 8 pages Spy Family light novel, 5 pages おじさまと猫 (short day for me as I travelled back across time zones!)
I don’t know how I did so well reading on Xmas day but that was pretty successful.
28/12 should have been better as I had a long wait at Heathrow before my flight but ended up chatting to a fellow traveller while drinking gin. Still went ok.
Today was very travel My last flight of many connecting ones got canceled due to weather condition. Had to wait until afternoon for rebooked flight. Finally home at last. Lots of tiny reads and dozing off.
Finding a voiced VN is hard, but browsing from Christmas Tina, I’ve found 恋爱绮谭 with only , but no EN or any other languages. I should have guessed about 不存在 part – suddenly VTuber. There are real characters too, though.
Bundled with Christmas Tina DLC, long enough VN-style stories that can save in-between. Works more like reading with listening practice, though.

I didn’t do an end-of-challenge post because I was engrossed in reading a webnovelThe Wandering Inn. So I’ll do one now since it’s the end of the year. I’ve managed to keep my reading streak. I only read one manga volume this challenge- 斉木楠雄のΨ難 １. I was reading in short bursts so as to keep up my streak but it was also a good thing because the pages were so wordy that I lost patience going further than 2 or 3 pages at a time. This was most definitely the wordiest manga I’ve ever read in my life. Well, I finished it a few days before the end of the year so I supplemented my reading streak with reading lyrics from anisongs.

I went on a daytrip yesterday, but ended up staying with friends yesterday and today, so was woefully unprepared for doing any reading today - but no way was I breaking my streak on new years eve!
I had my tablet in my bag, so luckily I had access to bookwalker, but I needed to pick something simple enough to be able to read reasonably quickly, and without easy access to my usual dictionary etc. So I chose やがて君になる which has been on my to-read list for ages and managed to get through the whole first chapter
Its been a weird year - it started poorly with me having just quit my job, then I had an amazing few months where I had my first trip to Japan, and got a great new job. Sadly that didn’t work out so I’m going into the new year with a terrible sense of deja vu since I’ve just quit my job again.
But despite the ups and downs of the year, one thing that was really consistent was my motivation to learn Japanese, and this challenge was a huge factor in that.
Thank you all for supporting me through my 44 volumes of manga, and 1 light novel this year - I challenged myself a lot with reading tougher material, and it would have been really easy to become discouraged and give up if I didn’t have a community around me.

The part about Light hiding the Death Note under a fake bottom in his drawer felt super difficult to understand had to skip Light’s explanation because it just took forever for me to figure out what was being said. At least I’ll have something to come back to in a year to see if it will feel better then
