Getting a little impatient with this volume of Promised Neverland because after some dramatic reveals at the beginning it feels like nothing else dramatic is going to happen until the end or maybe the next volume.
My read ahead with no lookups then reread strategy with Goosebumps finally confused me, spent a while wondering if I had reread a chapter, and if I had, why I hadn’t updated my tracking to show the right page number. (Finally decided I never reread it, so the tracking wasn’t wrong) I read another chapter without lookups because I’m too tired for lookups.
two more chapters of 3月のライオン and way more of hotel dusk than i intended i don’t know why i’ve been grabbed so quickly but here we are. it’s also pretty accessible, the text comes in very small chunks. kyle is a dick though
One of these is more difficult than the other I started with a sentence of 薬屋 so that whatever I read after would seem easy in comparison, was motivated to finish the page (which is not a standard page because I turned the font size up to make the text less intimidating looking, but still, a page.) Then I read all the first chapter 1 cut-scene for 軌跡. Now my brain hurts, but it’s a good knowledgey headache for once.
There was a fun hide&seek side quests where a npc would hide 4 times and give you written hints. Was very satisfying to find him without look-ups! I wish there was another side quest like that.
Feeling like I’m soon done with the game I’ll probably read from this kids book until I find another game after Zelda:
Finished the first volume of ダンジョン飯, which is as far as I got in the anime while we had Netflix. I’m enjoying the manga more because I can look up and dig into the vocabulary words I don’t know. Watching the anime, I had to just leave the subtitles on and let them blow past me.
Only the first volume was free, so now I’m deciding between buying the next one or moving on to something else.
I’m really enjoying seeing everybody’s check ins and progress (^^)
Day 17: Read two pages of the book I actually wanted to read for the autumn challenge . Finally some progress!
It’s funny how both of them were just dialogue almost, which almost felt like reading a script instead of a novel since there were minimal descriptions of anything.
I’m working my way through Akiko’s American Foreign Exchange & doing an episode a day of Nutshell Grammar. At three episodes a day, I feel like I’ve been reading AAFE forever but think I should be finished soon
I spent a lot of yesterday finishing マジルミエ! I really enjoyed myself and the furigana makes it actually probably a bit easier than some of my higher-level reads, so it’s quite manageable despite the deluge of business japanese (And that will probably be useful anyway). Will definitely continue it going forward.
One of them was classed as both level 0 and level 1, and I really enjoyed it, which makes me excited to start reading the level 1 books! Only 5 to go until then!
two more chapters of 3月のライオン (one significantly more difficult than the other), plus another hour or so of hotel dusk. i got my first game over already up to chapter two now. there are quizzes at the end of each chapter, so it comes with tests of understanding built-in! still trucking along with lost judgment, i’ve hit two of the longer school bits (specifically the boxing and 暴走族 ones) so debating at what kind of pace to continue with the plot
October 16
Very little time so only a tiny ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖2 (90% → 91%)
October 17
Super tired so I didn’t manage to read much ビブリア before falling asleep (91% ->92%). So close to the end too, hopefully this weekend I have time to finish.
Day 18: Read 4 pages of 夜警, so tenizey is a free elf for the rest of the day. Thus far I’m not finding the novel all too interesting or engaging… I hope it improves.
On a more jolly note – tomorrow’s my birthday~~~ big hype. Can’t wait to have a really nice day and enjoy a bunch of presents~
