Wellllll I did go ahead and finish the first story in the collection But I’ll reread (or at least re-skim) along with the group–maybe that will help me solidify new vocabulary.
The first volume of ダンジョン飯 is currently free on BookLive, so I started reading that. Fantasy vocab is all new to me

Evening, everyone! Today was a reset day for me. Took some time to get some air and take care of some things. I sat by a pond for half an hour just absorbing the atmosphere and listening to the sounds. Very nice ^___^.
I actually did a decent amount of reading today! Spent some time rereading through Volume 4 of Frieren since last week I read it in many small spurts. Alongside reading, I also did some chatting in Japanese, and did some active / passive immersion with YouTube.
My goals for tomorrow are to read about 40 more pages of Frieren, and do about an hour of listening (to podcasts and such).
Good Luck to everyone on their reading and language learning goals!! 頑張って!

Another week down! Some days better than others (I’m looking at you Thursday).
Saturday was pretty successful and I managed to finish the latest IBC read only a day behind schedule. I’ve managed to refrain from reading ahead on a few things I’m tempted to due to my other commitments. I need to finish the readings for ホリミヤ and Spy Family for last week and this week, then try to catch up on my reading leeches!

finished vol 3 of 3月のライオン and definitely going to introduce a chapter limit for myself to avoid burnout. maybe two? i also, in what might turn out to be a bad move, started hotel dusk (aka ウィッシュルーム) so we’ll see how that goes. very stylish game

VNs today too, 5000 characters of Island plus a little of Kirakira Monstars. Having fun and learning at the same time - love it!
October 14
Busy day and focused on other stuff so I only read a tiny amount of ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 (82% → 83%)
For a moment I thought you meant characters as in people and thought “Wow, no wonder ISLAND is such a long game!”
Hehe, no, it’s long, but not that long! About 800.000 characters all in all, the equivalent of 2000 pages in a normal book…

One chapter in the morning and one in the evening. Good chapters.
I do so many lookups even when I feel like I should know the word, even if I’m slightly unsure of the reading. Especially when reading out loud. I’m the type to look up words when reading in english too. If jisho/yomitan/takoboto are my best friends, merriam webster is my next best friend. At least when reading ebooks. It’s been a while since I’ve read physical japanese books, so can’t comment on that.
Day 15: Just read a couple of pages today because I was feeling rather sick, just to keep the streak going.
Always so happy when I’m able to read longer words like 発明品 or 襲撃事件 just because I’ve already encountered the individual kanji is other words~ it just affirms that my learning style of not actually learning is working really well.
