Are you sure? Anki is a very versatile tool.
WK works because it doesn’t allow for needless things to be added and clog it up.
But Anki looks nothing like WaniKani. It can’t possibly be worth looking into! ![]()
I’ve used it and I’m not interested. It’s not user friendly at all and I’m not interested in tinkering for hours to find out how to do what I want with it.
Yeah I feel you. It’s a waste of space and time. I’m waiting for Koichi to make the perfect resource instead of being self sufficient. Let our voice be heard!
Disregarding the blatant sarcasm, I do concur that Anki is, indeed, not worth looking into.
He’s not ![]()
Thank you for your well informed opinion. ![]()
What resources are you currently using to supplement your studies? I’m asking for a friend. ![]()
How very polite of you! You’re most welcome ![]()
Believe it or not, I have explored Anki. But then again, I don’t need to justify my opinion to you, so it’s really just a moot point ![]()
I use a bunch of supplementary resources; Here are a few I hope will be of use to your imaginary friend:
- Satori Reader
- LingoDeer
- Human Japanese
- Skritter
I suspect I will be turning to iKnow for additional vocabulary.
HTH
I do feel bad that you’ve been faced with sarcasm for the crime of expressing your opinion.
While I do not agree with your suggestion, I do not believe you should have been addressed the way you have been.
Thank you for your recommendations.
Last time I looked into Satori Reader they were somewhat lacking in content. How does it stand currently?
I have heard mention of Human Japanese. How are you liking it so far?
Skritter & LingoDeer are great resources.
Justification was never requested. I am certain you have explored it to your satisfaction and are moving forward with what works best for you.
Thanks again and good luck in your studies!
Satori Reader has been updating their site every week now since inception, as far as I am aware, so content wise, there is quite a bit. I can only recommend you have a look again to see if it is enough for you
I’m a slow reader, so the same amount of content may take me a lot longer to get through than it would take other people.
Human Japanese is my favorite resource by far. Made by the same guys who made Satori Reader. But I particularly like it because it’s very comforting and encouraging way to learn the language, and it’s cheap.
I’m just getting started with LingoDeer, and I’m taking longer than I thought I would to want up to it, but that may very well be a personal defect.
Skritter is fantastic, of course. I am impatiently awaiting their imminent update.
Best of luck to you.
Trust me on this mate, @hinekidori’s Coke 10k is something else entirely. It doesn’t look like Anki at all. He literally made a baby with Anki and WK.
You need to check it out.
I trust you, man. It’s not the deck that I’m skeptical about, it’s how much of a pain setting Anki up has been for me. It sucked all the joy out of learning ![]()
I had a string of sync issues between desktop and mobile as well, which made me decide it isn’t user-friendly enough for me.
Yeah, it was the same for me. We actually had several conversations about this back then… But the way he built the deck (mainly after this last template update he did) gives me no excuse not to use it xD
pssssssst
Ahhhh welcome to the final stretch of the fast levels! You’ll be here before you know it, hurry up so that I can share this cake with you! ![]()

I’m going to catch the cake soon enough and your heart too, thanks for the extra motivation ![]()
