Yes you are using that right ^^
私も元気です is correct. It would mean “I am also good” (も is an inclusive particle!)

Here, I’ll break down what I said:

Summary

私はフーヲロジストですが
“I am Whologist but”
Here, が means “but” (Like けど or でも)
フーちゃんと呼んでいいです
You can call me “Who-chan”
を - Particle for verbs (I don’t know how to explain things I’m sorry
呼んで - て-form of 呼ぶ (to call, to name)
て-form + いい means “You can” or “It’s ok to”
呼んでいいです - You can call me~

Hope that helps ^^

Good evening.

初めまして、セールブと申します。
Nice to meet you, my name is cerv.

Don’t worry you’re not bothering me
I’m happy to help.

Do you want to say it informally or formally?

You could say:
私は月が好きです。だから自分をMooniと呼びます。

だから - that is why
自分(じぶん) - myself
と呼ぶ - to call (something)

(I just realized my mistake with を earlier it was supposed to be と!)

That’s what I think anyway!

はじめまして!stardustashesですが、ホシと呼んでください。スターダストアシェズより簡単だからです。

私も月が好きです!
If you want to say “that’s why ~,” the easiest way imo is to use the [reason]から[result] format. For example, 月が好きから、「Mooni」という名前を使います。(つきがすきだから、「Mooni」というなまえをつかいます。) The だ is the shortened form of the verb です、and is necessary after adjectives and nouns when using から (I think, but it’s been so long since I learned the grammar that I do it by instinct now, so if I’m wrong please correct me!)

Literally: because I like the Moon, I use the name “Mooni.”

Have you learned this grammar before? ^^ I used another example in the first sentence I wrote.
Edit: Whologist beat me to it! Thank you for your explanation!

(ugh my mind is blanking out so much sorry sorry- like I can barely read katakana oops)

oh thank you!

I feel like I’m learning nothing

何もしませんか?笑

For context: the 笑 is the kanji for the verb わらう which means to laugh or smile, so it’s often used like “lol” in typed conversations!

もしかして、学生ですか?

Are you perhaps a student?

Also, it’s very easy to get discouraged, so don’t worry about getting things perfect! Japanese has one of the steepest language learning curves for (native) English speakers (which you may be?), so the best way to get better IS to make mistakes, ask questions, and keep practicing! I work in Japan and I make more mistakes every day than I can count, but I’ve learned so much!

I like used w and 草 for lol, mostly because I find using ‘grass’ as lol to be so funny

はい, 学生です !

( yeah, native English and fluent Spanish as well, so yeah

Japanese is very different-

Yeah, I should ask questions

I just tend to be

so, shy

私も日本語を話す時にいつも恥ずかしいですよ。笑

When speaking Japanese, I’m also always embarrassed lol!

別の言語で考えながら日本語を話す、又は書くことは最も難しいことですね!

Speaking and writing Japanese while thinking in another language is extremely difficult!

でも、ワニカニを使っている皆さんが一緒に日本語を習っているから、恥ずかしさはいりません! ^^

But everyone using WaniKani is learning Japanese together, so there’s no need to be embarrassed!

I’m positive I made some grammar mistakes there, but then I suppose that’s half of the point in and of itself haha!

恥ずかしい (はずかしい) - embarrassed, shy
難しい (むずかしい) - difficult
