That’s right, we’ve removed our old FAQ and Guide and combined them into a much easier to use (and update) hub of all the information you need to use WaniKani.
It has everything from our new onboarding series, tons of common questions (now answered), and lots of really fun gifs we made ourselves.
Please give it a look and make sure to link its pages to all the lovely new users who won’t read it before posting here first.
If you have any suggestions for knowledge base content or questions you’d like answered within it, please let us know here or by email: hello@wanikani.com
It’s also public on GitHub, so you’re welcome to submit pull requests to add/update it as well!
Reading the Onboarding Series right now and I like that it addresses the whole “some very common kanji only come up in later levels” thing
Also this is just such a good idea overall. It was a bit of a faff before having to link people to two things, and I could never remember what was really covered by which.
I clicked around for a few minutes and I like it! AND, I didn’t actually see a prominent “why is WaniKani so slow? Click HERE [star star star flashing light]”
So, I guess we’ll have to keep answering that in the forum because if I didn’t see it, the outraged new people aren’t going to search very hard either. It would be nicer if every one of those threads could be one answer, link to FAQ, close thread.
Thanks for all the hard work you are doing every day! I just gave it a quick look, but I really like it so far! It’s awesome to see all the improvements you are working on. Just another reason that going lifetime was the right decision.
This is great! I think the detailed guides for lessons and reviews are especially going to help new users. I also like the general WK questions that clear up what it teaches, how it teaches, and what it doesn’t teach.
