I’ve been using Wanikani long enough to finally get my first burned item, which is obviously going to be

for everyone. I’m pretty proud of myself for not giving up or anything, still going strong with reviews everyday and lessons every day I don’t have work!

Burned is the level after enlightened. It takes four months before items are reviewed at that point. If you can remember them after so long, you can consider them permanently memorised.

Your first burns typically show up after about six months. It doesn’t depend on your level.
