Why does Wanikani only teach a few words in a set?
Example from Lv.8:
東口 East Exit
南口 South Exit
Where are:
北口 North Exit
西口 West Exit
I’ve looked at the kanji’s, but these words don’t seem
to be used on the site. And I think i’ve come across other situations like this, but can’t think of any at the moment.
I don’t think they need to include those. WaniKani’s main goal is to teach how to read kanji, not to be a comprehensive vocabulary resource. The vocab is there to reinforce different readings of the kanji, rather than to cover every possible word. Also, since you already know 東口 and 南口, picking up 北口 and 西口 on your own should be pretty easy. If you want to expand your vocab further, you can use other resources like Anki or Kitsun.
