I have a feeling this has been asked before, but I guess I was searching the wrong keywords because I found nothing…
I would like to add 棟 to my reviews because it appears pretty often in the manga I’m reading, and until recently I incorrectly believed the reading to be こう (I have no idea why I thought this). Anyway, I’d like to add it to my reviews, but it doesn’t unlock until level 46 and I am level 40 right now. Is there a way I can unlock it immediately?
I will eventually learn it through the manga most likely, but I dont have time to read everyday so sometimes I re-encounter Kanji and have forgot their reading, so adding to WaniKani would be nice.
Bonus points if anyone can guess what I’m reading based on that completely vague hint
Not possible. Wanikani has its order for teaching kanji and it is impossible to learn some kanji before they unlock. Your only option is to drill this one kanji on some other SRS site until you reach lvl 46 in wanikani.
Unfortunately not possible because scripts/apps can’t manipulate the SRS mechanics. You can reorder lessons and reviews, but you can’t force-unlock something or break the level sequencing.
I do with WaniKani became more flexible as you reach the higher levels though…
