MANGA VOTING ! What is your favorite manga?

Did you read it in English or Japanese?

Also, 誕生日おめでとう! :tada:

English o: I’m not up to date either, I haven’t followed since over a year ago.

Thank you!

Mine, too! Great artwork and storyline. For me it’s on top of the list along with Fullmetal Alchemist. Hope to discover another series that I like just as much.

  • Berserk
  • Blade of the Immortal
  • Eden: it’s an endless world
  • 20th Century Boys
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion

^ I can’t really pick a winner out of these…

Some other favs:

  • Gantz
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • Air Gear
  • Higurashi / Umineko
  • Sun-ken Rock

Pretty sure I’m forgetting quite some ^^

Damn, for japanese learners you guys got very conventional taste. Not that it’s bad in itself, they’re definitely good, but…
Anyway, for me:

Ashita no Joe
Made in Abyss
Shigurui
Kingdom
Parasyte
I am Hero
Grappler Baki
Kaiji
Strongest Man Kurosawa
Devilman
Suicide Boy (okay, that one’s korean)

…I probably forgot a lot.

ERASED
Beelzebub
Sherrif Evan’s Lies
Fukushuu Kyoushitsu
Noragami
Kimi no Knife
Masamune-kun’s revenge
Hunter x Hunter
and a lot more

At first, when I read detective conan, I feel a lot difficult for me to understand, like the word suspect, detective,… if you read the story often so you could easily remember and understand the difficult word. Good Luck !

I read it in Vietnamese because I’m Vietnamese people. Do you love Chihayafuru?

Yeah, Chihayafuru is amazing. It’s one of my favorite anime, but I haven’t read the manga.

I really like the not-ripe, green version. You cut it into pieces, season with lime and salt. Eat it. It is good snack. Makes me do funny faces because the lime acidity.

I started watching last night. It’s making me question whether I should learn the 100 poems and become the national champion of my own country. or just watch the show

is there a k-on fan or a himawari san fan around here?

けいおん!

Seen the live-action movies?

I don’t get the conventional taste part, do you mean like mostly shounen and shoujo stuff? Or famous stuff?

Interesting favorites! I also liked Kimi no Knife, but I never finished reading Fukushuu Kyoushitsu.

Nah, why would I do that? :joy:

I am gonna rewatch the series before season 3 comes out though.

Cause they’re good. :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, they’re all I’ve seen of Chihayafuru. I really ought to try the anime sometime. I’ve visited Omi Jingu in real life, though. Went on a festival day, and they had the inner courtyard open so people could go inside.

I’m really bad at picking favourites, but some of my favourite manga would be Twin Spica by Kou Yaginuma, Natsume Yuujinchou, and Yotsuba&!. I also quite liked Koe no Katachi by Yoshitoki Oima, and I’ve started her next series, Fuumetsu no Anata e, and man, is it intense! I liked the first 4 books a lot, but it’s started to take quite a lot of a darker and bleaker turn in the 5th book (not that the first books were cheery though ^_^; not even a little bit) so I’m not sure if I’ll like it as a whole, but it’s really quite interesting.

(And if mentioning manhwa is okay, I also liked Milky Way Hitchhiking by Sirial a fair bit. Very pretty art.)

Conan is my favorite out of those, but currently I’m really enjoying reading Dead Dead Demons Dededededestruction

Yes, I did. It was AWSOME !!!

Conventional maybe but I don’t care (:stuck_out_tongue:), and all read in English because some of these are damn hard in Japanese:

Akira (and in full colour too because no one liked black and white art in the 90s apparently)
Blade of the Immortal (although I didn’t actually finish the series, it’s still amazing)
Nausicca of the Valley of Wind (like Akira, the anime only covers a fraction of the story. If you liked the film, you should totally read this)
Oyasumi Punpun
Ranma 1/2

:heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::blush::blush::blush:

Aria

I never had any interest in reading manga, but the WK book club convinced me to give it a go. So far this is my favourite, because the characters are endearing, the language is mostly comprehensible, and there is just enough quirkiness to keep things interesting.

And that’s just talking about the book club. The manga is great too.
