I just reached level 50, and it feels so good! So close now! I started 5 years ago, and little bit little I have improved. I can’t wait to put the same amount of study every night into reading/grammar and really take off! Here is to doing 1 level a month for the next year to finish strong!
Congratulations! Keep your spirits high as you approach the finish line!
Well done! Slow and steady never fails. By the way, once you reach level 60, what comes next?
I work for a Japanese company who has always appreciated that I am trying to bridge the gap between us (their subsidiary) and the parent company. After finishing Wani Kani I’m looking to really dig into total immersion and be able to speak with my coworkers fluently.
So proud of you internet stranger! Keep up the good work!
Congrats! Godspeed and thanks for sharing your journey!
I’m so glad to see someone else taking their time. I started at the beginning of the year and I just hit level 10 last week. So, I think it’ll probably take me around 3 or 4 years to finish if I continue at this pace. But probably it will be a bit longer since I’m guessing I’ll start spending more time reading material in Japanese rather than just studying the kanji.
And I’m glad I took my time because I never got burnt out. I am adhd and have a tendency to start and stop hobbies, and learning japanese has been a constant for a while now
have fun with it!
Fellow ADHD person here… super encouraging to hear that you’ve accomplished this in a non speed run/hyperfocus way. Sometimes I feel like unhealthy hyperfocus is the only way I can get things done. Got any tips for ADHD people? (Hopefully this isn’t hijacking the post).
