Watched episodes 220 - 223 of 名探偵コナン. 220 and 221 I understood about 70%, but 222 and 223 were probably only about 50%, if only because they both had a lot of Kansai-ben. I love Hattori Heiji as a character, but man are he and Kazuha hard to understand!
I really wanted to watch 224 today as well, since it’s part 3 of a 3-ep case and part 2 ends on a literal cliff-hanger, but I’m out of time thanks to having to get up early for work tomorrow.
Gonna do weekly posts from now on and just edit the table below!

Thoughts from Jan 6: Funny how Pablo and Shel keep fainting before they reach their beds and now I feel like I’m never going to forget the word for faint - desmayado, which is interesting because in my language it means disappointed.
Thoughts from Jan 7: Tried watching a live action series on Netflix without subtitles but gave up after 10 minutes and watched the rest with subtitles. It’s called 放課後カルテ and it reminds me of the Good Doctor. I’m not counting it in my listening practice since I’ll be watching it with subs from now on but in case anyone is interested. Comprehensible Input Intermediate is more interesting to me than the Beginner one. I’m getting a little bit bored with that so I thought it might be time to level up. Or maybe I should just skip topics I’m not interested in.
Episodes 34 & 35 of Gundam! Sometimes the language is really hard So sometimes I have to rewind a lot, but it’s manageable! But when I think about it, when I watched it with English (my native language) subtitles, it’s a lot of technical/military lingo I don’t pay attention to even in English. So I try to make sure I’m doing lookups and trying to understand the stuff thats actually important lol. The story was good in these two episodes too! Char meeting Amuro face to face had me STRESSED, but it was so cool
Didn’t post yesterday due to real life issues and frustrations, though today was better. I did get myself to watch one episode of 名探偵コナン each day, so 224 on the 6th and 225 today. Understanding was only around 50% for each, and I suspect that had more to do with my energy levels and mood than actual difficulty. But at least I got some practice in both days still.
With more catch up to do, I’ve started on my search for an “easy listening” podcast to get some immersion in later. So first of all, I gave Teppei another go. I still don’t like it, so that was a short lived experiment Also one frustrated by technical issues. But hey, box ticked and so today’s challenge completed.
Oh, you don’t? I haven’t listened to a ton of his episodes, but I realized recently I feel the same way. But I think it’s just a lot of learner podcasts in general that I easily get bored with I feel a little guilty because I’m sure it’s really effective to have listening material close to (but just challenging enough!) my language level, so sometimes I worry I’m listening to too difficult of things. But right now I feel like prioritizing enjoyment is more important for me haha
