There was a pretty fun bit at the end where he was acting out situations where someone is forced to do something and using the causative passive.

I feel like I picked up a little more from this cast comment, but only marginally so… and only because overall they spoke a little more slowly and didn’t talk over each other as much.
(“I didn’t know ‘Cherry Fifth Avenue’ had that meaning. Will it just be ‘Fifth Avenue’ next time?” lmao. No but I forgot they do go that far in this manga; I hope I don’t regret getting the audio dramas…)

- 53 minutes of listening, mix of Youtube videos and I tried a little of Teppei Z. Not as bad as I expected! Definitely pleased with the amount I could understand. I remember trying to listen to this a few months ago and quickly backing out

No listening at all on Wednesday 
No excuses, I just didn’t do any. Definitely need to make sure I get some done in the morning otherwise it definitely becomes harder later on.

Finished watching Howl’s Moving Castle! Watching that movie so many times meant I knew what people were saying for a lot of the movie, so I know that influenced why I understood so much, but I still am really happy that I could understand how the words meant what I knew they were saying. It was really cool to experience that so early in my japanese journey! Seems like my comprehension is so much better than my speaking. 
Of course, give me a movie in japanese I haven’t seen before and I’ll be lost.
I had a hard day today so I’m proud of myself for doing two lessons on JP101 too.

Today is another episode of Free. There’s 5 episodes left, so I might try step up the pace a bit to finish the season over the weekend, but I also want to get more reading down, and I should have a tabletop RPG game, so we’ll see which I actually get done.

I only listened to one JPod101 lesson, and gave a few NHKやさしいことばニュース a listen for the first time. NHK is above my level, though I understood one more than the others. Honestly I’m just working on being able to process and differentiate the different sounds from each other. I sometimes struggle with that even in english because of my audio processing difficulties. That’s a big reason why I joined this challenge and why it’s really cool to notice the difference in my understanding now compared to when I first heard similar conversations in japanese!

Watched eps 4 and 5 of Golden Kamuy. The cliffhanger was too stronk lol. I’m still trying to figure out who the characters are since I pretty much only know them from interesting official merch because Golden Kamuy and JoJo goods often sit next to each other

I’m listening to NHK articles but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. It’s above my level but I thought listening to japanese in general is good for your learning? To at least get used to hearing real japanese compared to always just listening to what’s in textbooks and lessons? Or maybe that’s not right

Today I finished out Free!, which marks the first anime finished during this Autumn challenge. I enjoyed the series. I did like that the villain wasn’t the usual sports anime “I want to be the very best so I’m going to be an cheating malicious asshole until we get the story in the final episode”, though actually I probably enjoyed the side characters Rei and Nagisa more overall than either Haru or Rin.
Anyway, next week I’ll be away and not really able to spend time on anime, so I will probably be more podcast focused for next week’s listening time. I just need to decide which one…
(It also means you might just get one batched update at the end of the week)
