I hit the reset button again, because the perfectionist inside me couldn’t handle the thought that I wasn’t doing this like it should be done. I know it’s a bit drastic and unnecessary, but that’s just how my mind wants to operate. I’ve had very little time for studying kanji anyway, I’m mostly spending my time working night shift on a covid ICU and sleeping 
On the bright side: I did start taking actual lessons so I’m speaking Japanese with a real teacher and everything and it’s a lot of fun.
I’m just going to have to do the whole kanji business even slower, I guess… No level 21 for me this year

Only you understand your preferences and circumstances better than anyone else. Go for it

A goal is there to provide us with a direction and purpose. It is not something set in stone. A lot of things change in life and we do our best to accommodate the circumstances. You have the experience of working through a few levels and you will be stronger than before.

Woah. Crazy. I can’t believe it. I actually just reached level 20. Six months ago I couldn’t imagine ever being that far. Feels nice. Only one more level until I reach the threads goal and officially finish the first third of WaniKani. Having the 2 as first digit feels like a huge victory already, though.
I’m very glad to see that @Aikibujin, even though he didn’t post for the last levels, also kept leveling. We almost have it, mate!

@tugboatcaptain, glad to see you in the thread! A reset is drastic, but sometimes it’s the right time to do. Who cares if you reach level 21 in December or May anyway. Good luck with your studies, and keep having fun with Japanese!

And everyone else, congratulations on your level-ups! You are all a great inspiration to me and everyone else in this thread. I’m so glad that we could work on getting to level 21 together here! I hope many of you also join the Tokyo Skytree thread so we can keep going towards level 60 together.
Honestly Marifly I can say that I know for certain that I wouldn’t be at this level now if it weren’t for you and this thread.
I went through a hell point at uni and my subscription expired soon after, so I know from past experience that would have normally resulted in me taking another long break from WK and possibly resetting to a lower level again, as I’ve done multiple times now. It’s only because of this thread that I was motivated to persevere through it.
I truly appreciate it.
