Congratulations!
It’s a huge achievement, and I’m sure it was totally worth having to press F5 about 20 times to get the result

That’s a really impressive listening score!
I hope to aim for that kind of score in December

good luck.
you can do it
I mean it makes sense given the amount of anime I watch. Plus at work I have to communicate solely in Japanese

Hello guys just wanted to ask everyone how many textbooks they are using for their exam , currently for the n2 I’m using 4 ! ^ - ^

Yes, that seems usual, something like 1 for vocabulary, 1 for grammar, 1 for reading, 1 for listening, right?
Closer to the exam, good to get a book of practice tests too.

Mines more like , one for reading , one for grammar and two practice books . Just because I found that I don’t really practice kanji other than on WaniKani and then listening I just don’t really think I was using the books enough and I thought I could mostly learn from immersion and practice videos ! But we’ll see kinda scared for the n2 honestly because at school my exams are important now so yeah .Let’s see how well I can maintain everything

Results are out! You can see them on the MyJLPT Website. :slightly_smiling_face:

I took N4 and thought I did fine on Reading and Vocabulary but that I might fail in the Listening, since it was very hard.

Well, I passed! Turns out, I somehow got 40/60 in Listening  must’ve gotten lucky on quite a few guesses

Got a total of 125/180 and A in all sections (albeit barely). Feeling pretty proud of myself right now :upside_down_face:

How did you guys do? :slightly_smiling_face:

Honestly, I did so the text books I could for N2 and failed. IMO it’s kind of the first of the tests where doing things like listening and reading Japanese materials might do more good as the prep books are deceptively teaching you how to pass a test, not necessarily teaching you Japanese.

It’s not impossible but it’s been hard for me because I tried to replicate my success with N3 and couldn’t. I’m going for N1 this time because it’s been a couple years and I never stopped learning Japanese.

TL;DC I’m only using the SKM N1 reading book. Might get the grammar book later on but I just finished the Dictionary of Japanese grammar Anki deck and feel like that should be enough.

I passed N1, but my score was a lot lower than I was hoping. Good motivation not to rest on laurels I guess.

That’s great, you passed the highest level there is!
Yeah, don’t rest on your laurels but start pestering them to make an N0

What the heck. I was sure I failed it. I seriously don´t understand how I lucked out in the listening that hard. It´s not a stellar score and kind of a close call, but considering I folded my study plan in half and I was really missing time to practice, this is phenomenal to me. I only took the July JLPT because I was attending a convention that was held in the same city as the test location is in and thought the opportunity would be too good to pass up.

I passed N3! Very surprisingly, I did better on reading than listening! Although I can partially attribute that to nerves bc I did very well on listening during practice :sob: (also the acoustics of the room was … not ideal but that can’t be helped)

Finally passed the N1, with a score of 120!!

This was a long time coming after missing by 2 points (scored a 98) last summer, then being unable to sit the December exam even though I’d already paid for it. I’m glad it worked out this way though, missing the mark last year drove me to study a lot more, so now my Japanese is better off for it. I was even able to feel a noticeable improvement in the listening section, last year it felt like a big struggle, but this time around most of the questions felt like a breeze, or were at least down to the wire (“is this one’s answer A or C?”) instead of feeling super lost.

Took the N2. Both before and after taking it I kept saying I felt like it was a 50/50 chance of me passing. Low and behold I was right on the money because I passed with a score of 91/180  If I ever go for N1 I’ll really need to bulk up on vocab and grammar since my reading was solid and my listening was good.

Overall, it was a gamble to take it without specifically prepping for it (just reading a lot of books for fun instead) but I’m glad I did! A pass is a pass and I’m over the moon!
