Aw yes, I was right! I’ve had it as Aug 22 in the countdown thread for a month!

At first I was all “ah, it will be months until we get the results, whatever” and I didn’t care at all. Now that there is an exact date and it is less than a week away I’m all “I NEED MY RESULTS AND I NEED THEM NOW!”.

Humans are so weird. Anyone else feeling the same?

But I’m more worried about December and the next one. I have a study plan but I’m already behind the schedule, I have to get more serious about it.

If you don’t wait for things then it doesn’t seem as long. Things come when they come, getting worked up about it isn’t going to change that. What I mean to say is that no, I don’t feel the same.

One thing I like about the 実用日本語検定 is that they let you keep the booklet and you can use that to check the answers the next day when they publish an answer sheet.

But the fact that the version of the test offered in Japan is unique to Japan makes that possible, since you can’t communicate questions or answers to people in other time zones. They make a version for several Southeast Asian countries as well, but it’s a different test.

I wish JLPT did that too. I would love to know how I did (except in Listening section) as soon as I finish my exam.

Worst is that the result comes after the application for the next JLPT begins. If someone is actually looking to see if he passed the JLPT or not to base his selection for next JLPT, he has very few days to make that decision.

I don’t see anything on the Japanese site about applications except for group applications, but maybe I’m just missing something.

Well I am just talking about applications in my country. In some cities, it started from 1st August only and deadline is September 3-4. And just the guy/girl @hachiken above me, who mentioned about applications being open.

Maybe this situation is only outside Japan, but they should co-ordinate for this properly.

In both Sweden and Denmark you have plenty of time to decide.

Hey all! I’m going to be taking the N2 in December. At level 15, it means I have a lot of studying to do. I live in Japan though, so there are lots of kanji I can read in specific contexts and my listening is pretty decent if I do say so myself. Obviously, my kanji needs work and my grammar is also abysmal.unnamed%20(7)

Anyone know if the London results will be out on the 22nd? SOAS’s site says early September, it also looks like the website has to be manually updated with a link so I cant see us getting them at the same time as the rest of the world.

Edit: Ignore this, they just updated their website.

Just a quick question for those of you who’ve taken the exam in London. How quickly do they get you out of the test centre? Asking as I will need to get the last plane out to the Channel Islands once its finished and need to know if I can make it to Gatwick in time!

I was in London last july. The registration started at 12:30, test itself started beetwen 13:30 / 14h00. I went out around 5pm. It was N4 level btw, for more difficult level you should add half an hour.

Edit : In case I misunderstood the question. Once the exam is over, there is maybe around 10 additional minutes to collect all the answer sheets, and then you can go, no more paperwork is necessary.

I’ll be skipping this year. Two failures is enough for me.

Thanks Arzar! Yeah I’d have a pretty tight window to get back so I might have to think about doing it in July if I can’t get the morning off work (being a teacher sucks for this kinda thing)

I signed up and paid for the N3. I’m a complete JLPT novice, but I’ve been studying Japanese for a few years, and I also studied in Japan for one semester last year. That being said, I’m not the best student by any means… I like studying Kanji & Vocab, especially with WK, love this shit. On the other hand, I really hate learning grammar, which is why I liked learning English and Spanish cause, the grammar is super simple, I didn’t even have to study it.

To be honest, I might have done goofed signing up for N3 since, I don’t even master all Genki II grammar. And I got like 3 months + I should learn a shitload of new grammar, vocab etc. I got the Sou Matome materials for N3 and I’m taking an N3 uni course so, I might just be able to pull this off. Wish me luck fellas.

Best of luck! I also applied for N3 this December. I gave N4 this July after finishing Minna no Nihongo and purely practicing on japanesetest4you website. I’d advise giving the Nihongonomori Youtube N3 playlist for a quick overview of N3 grammar (most of them are just 5 min vidoes). I don’t consider it to be a complete source, but it is quite good.

I got SKM books shipped but they are still stuck in customs. :no_mouth:

I took N5 a few years ago (and passed with a miserable score). I am thinking of doing N4 this December in Toronto. I’m doing great on Kanji and vocab (thanks, WK!), but I am terrible at everything else. I’ve got a bunch of stuff on my plate both at home and at work, and Japanese is the one thing that gets neglected (again, except for WK). So, yeah, I might pass for this year and go back to grammar once I’m done with WK. (However, I still try to read at least one article at day on NHK Easy Web during my 昼休み at work, to make sure I get some actual practice.)

Just remember that they only play the listening track once! That definitely tripped me up when I did N5 since every other language exam I’d done (for French) had always played it through twice at beginner level

SO CLOSE! … but still so far.

I hope they upload the results at midnight >_< ;;
