Japanese Songs from the past

As an extra reading and listening practice, I can happily say that I’m able to read and understand plenty of lyrics from the songs that I knew in the past (and I’m still listening to them in my Jpop playlist).
All thanks to Wanikani.
Songs by Seiko Matsuda (a legend), Ayumi Hamasaki, Kyoko Fukada, Chage and Aska, DAI, Hideaki Tokunaga, Mayumi Itsuwa, and so on, and so on.
Gosh, I’m old. haha

Ha yeah, I’m able to do karaoke here even though I don’t have the lyrics memorized, just reading along and knowing how the tune goes. It’s a big hit when the gaijin does a well-loved familiar tune in Japanese.

So they overlook the occasional [mumble mumble] when there’s an unfamiliar kanji in there

Technically, every song released is a song from the past

I’m not very fast yet in reading thus a fast song, I would need to remember some part of the lyrics to do karaoke.

haha, True … I’m from Indonesia, thus Japanese pronunciation is closer to Bahasa Indonesia compared to English, thus even when I was a kid, memorizing Japanese songs were easier than English songs even though I totally did not understand a word.

I discovered the joy of Japanese Karaoke. It’s even better if you can read the lyrics on the Karaoke machine xD
