Going to Japan is the plan for the spring holiday I dream (my dream spring holyday).
去年私の弟はコンビニでバナナを見ました。
I’m not sure if I used the で particle right here
Last year my brother saw a banana at the conbini?
At the convenience store, but yes
Then yeah, it’s the right use of で
(Sorry for relatively late reply) Thanks for the help
Just a note that if you write 弟, it is implied it’s your own younger brother so you don’t have to add 私. It’s a minor thing, but goes a long way in terms of when to use personal pronouns and when they can be skipped.
Conbini or Konbini is a common word to talk about japanese convenience stores so it is also used like that.
Good to know, thanks Does it make the sentence wrong to keep the 私 (and, of course, the の)?
Oh, okay, thanks for the info
Not grammatically wrong per se, no.
But it would be considered unnatural in Japanese?
To me a little unnatural in this context. You would write 私の弟 when you need to emphasize person A is your younger brother. if it’s just a topic, I personally would write only 弟.
Ok, so more like this then?
去年弟はコンビニでバナナを見ました。
「ワニカニは死んでいる」と誰かが口にしたけど、私は先日ライフタイムを買ったから生活はしか初めていません。
What I meant is Somebody said that Wanikani is dying, but as I bought Lifetime the other day, life is just beginning.
But something is probably wrong, because when I use Google to translate it back, it translates it into something different in English
That’s not necessarily on you. Even if you were to use Deepl you might still get a different translation.
Regarding your sentence, 生活 is “living”, not the concept of life. That would be 命.
